So how do they kill off Frank? Do they give him a death that makes sense to the series and his character (assassination)? Or do they go with something that makes fun of Kevin Spacey - some kind of laughable, cartoonish death? Also, will Claire be enough to carry the show for one more season?

I hope that they do something with dignity for the show itself and not make a mockery of the situation. I'd prefer it to be a random accident; even with the most thought out grandiose plans, fate can take us away, so to speak. Can Claire carry? IMO, probably not. The last 2+ seasons felt like too much Claire to me. They tried to make her equal to Spacey, including mannerisms and asides, in a role designed specifically for Spacey. That's never going to work. Maybe it will work better with her not having to fight for screen time against Spacey, but I'm not convinced.[Edited on June 5, 2018 at 11:11 AM. Reason : ]

^Yep. Claire is so boring.

They don't have to kill him, they can say he's in prison or fled the country and never show him.

Pushing the Secretary of State down 2 stairs and into a coma was comical enough

Well that was completely unsatisfying.

I read spoilers and watched the last 5 min of the last episode...what a shit show.

I'm not sure what I was more disappointed in: the season being a complete disaster and shitshow from the beginning or myself for sitting through it.

I didn't watch the final season, but it sounds like the Spacey video was more entertaining. Glad I only watched it.

"This Kevin Spacey video is the HOC canon ending we needed"

I was pretty disappointed. I can understand writers saying you can never please anyone but this was universally unpleasant. The ending was horrible by definitive standards. Not only was there no real closure, but the entire arc was cobbled together to form something that neither completed the original story nor established something new. I feel like this season opened up several new subplots but completed few of them. I feel like the ending conveyed nothing and had limited relation to everything else we have seen over the years. Sur, it closed the final tie to Frank and litigation but to what end?
