Did anyone here attend? I hadn't heard about it but saw everyone dressed up and wondered what was up. Apparently it was a huge clusterfuckhttp://abc11.com/entertainment/harry-potter-event-in-raleigh-leaves-some-fans-disappointed-/2978086/?sf179965448=1https://www.buzzfeed.com/tanyachen/accio-uh-oh?utm_term=.uboAWpAK5#.vdl3XN34Q(the wand criticism seems unfair though, wth did they expect?)

They sound like a bunch of whiny snowflakesIt does sound like the event was procrastinated and poorly planned seeing how people were up "all night" working on it just days before, but I mean what do you expect. [Edited on January 23, 2018 at 1:20 PM. Reason : .]

I didn't attend, but I went to one of the stops for this unknowingly. I met some folks at London Bridge earlier in the day and saw a sign for it, but didn't think anything of it at first. Then at least 100 Harry Potter folk descended on the place at once and it was obvious that most of them had been drinking for a long time. Nobody at LBP told us we had to leave or anything because of it, but I wasn't hanging around. By the time I was able to fight through the crowd and close my tab to leave, there was a half-block line to get in.I didn't see anything that would have prevented someone from just showing up in Harry Potter gear and going in without buying a ticket for this crap. They had folks at the door when I left, but they didn't appear to be checking IDs or tickets. Seems like a great racket though, give us $$$ for a "ticket" to something you don't need a ticket for.

these themed bar crawls are the worstno surprise that they’re managed horribly
1/23/2018 2:05:35 PM
There is nothing worse than having one of these things come into the bar you're at. You're having a good day, and then 10 lax Bros in the David Pumpkins suit come puke all over the place.

did they put butter in their beer?
1/23/2018 3:24:21 PM
they said it wasn't even beer

Seems like people paid for something they could have done for free

What are we just stealing topics from r/raleigh now?

Was also downtown at the same time of this tomfoolery. Was impossible to get into several bars post concert. Cosplay went from stupid lazy (graphic T-Shirt) to kind of impressive. Lots of women wearing 'slutty' Hogwarts uniforms...so I guess there's that.

Tom Foolery is an actual guy that was the kids host on Fox 22. Now likely in jail.

had the people upset about this never been to coglins or isaac hunters?
1/24/2018 10:13:51 AM
these bar crawls are essentially those bars en masse
1/24/2018 10:31:42 AM
why did they bill it as a "festival" though
1/24/2018 11:13:28 PM
Seems like they're trying to morph it into a "festival" for next year, bc the simple bar crawl went off without a hitch
1/24/2018 11:20:15 PM
The organizer also owns Coglins, Isaac Hunters, and Paddy O’beers
