You can send a PM to ask someone a question about some shit that isn't a tenth of your business rather than posting a thread about it, though. There's a difference between people knowing about something and people talking about it.

Helpful hint for you, Kiwi:

You can click the "inbox" link next to your username under the logo to go to your private message inbox. There is a link in the upper left that says "Compose New Mail." Click that, and you can create a message directly to qntmfred. He can ignore that or tell you to fuck off or whatever.

You can also click the "user info" link under someone's post to view their profile, where you'll find a convenient "Send a private message" link that brings up the PM composition page with the user already entered in the To field.

Perhaps this kind of question was ok back when we were all in school and relationships changed often and usually didn't carry a whole lot of weight when they were over. But at this age, a lot more can be at stake. So much more responsibility now, rather than 10-15 years ago.

I think that maybe why there's more sensitivity to this now, and really, one person's relationship is none of another person's relationship unless you're a close personal friend. And I'm not really close personal friends with anybody here (except maybe my wife) so none of this is my business.

Although, full disclosure, I did ask Frosh if he was married to a fellow TWWer recently, so I guess I'm guilty of it too.
