I bought an instant read thermometer.https://www.amazon.com/Lavatools-Javelin-Ambidextrous-Thermometer-Chipotle/dp/B01F59K0KA/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1499738492&sr=1-1&keywords=Lavatools%2BJavelin%2BPRO&th=1I hate browsing these deals because there doesn't seem to be a way to filter out the 100% claimed, and if you see something you like it's almost guaranteed to be all gone.[Edited on July 10, 2017 at 10:01 PM. 7/11/2017 11:21:49 AM
Honestly thinking about the Echo with the discount.
7/11/2017 1:14:17 PM
Amazon already has enough of my information. I don't need them constantly listening to my four year old's temper tantrums.
7/11/2017 1:29:01 PM
bought a fire HD 8 kids edition. That 2 year break guarantee any good? No questions asked sort of thing?
7/11/2017 2:14:03 PM
I was already planning on buying another Echo Dot...so the timing worked out to get one for $35 + $10 credit for buying it through Alexa. Otherwise, i'll pass on everything else.

Can the Fire 7 or 8 be jailbroken to run normal apps?
7/11/2017 4:20:27 PM
You could definitely do it on the original Fire 7message_topic.aspx?topic=646066

Got the $30 tablet. Gonna put google playstore on it and expand the memory via the memory slot.now...where to find a good case for it?
7/12/2017 2:01:12 AM
synapse how hard was that process? and is it still working with the latest fire OS update?I was going to purchase the HD8 and expand the memory and add googleplay but I held off because I thought it was going to be too challenging.I've installed mods for PC games before but never rooted/jailbroke a cell phone or tablet.

I bought a $30 tablet a few years ago during the prime sale and it's in a box somewhere collecting dust. Overall, the Prime sale was just as disappointing as a lot of those "summer airfare" sales I saw for Alaksa, Southwest, etc. All the flights were either midweek or during months nobody wants to travel. It's funny, because Alaska extended their 24 hour "10 year anniversary" sale an extra day. My guess is because nobody booked any of those shitty flights.I won't be surprised to see a somewhat lackluster cyber monday sales after Thanksgiving this year either. When the economy is horrible, amazing deals seem to pop up everywhere, but we seem to be chugging along pretty nicely, so "deals" aren't going to be all that amazing.

I usually love prime day, but was mostly disappointed. The only thing I got was a baby gift in the opening hours on Monday night, and it just arrived on my doorstep. Damn, that is fast shipping.

I bought nothing. but i'll admit i did check for any deals on a DJI mavic pro
7/12/2017 11:55:07 AM
Got an Echo, fire stick (not on sale, but still needed one), and some baby stuff.
7/12/2017 11:56:10 AM
My summation of Prime Day is that it can be great if you have some things you already need and have been waiting to buy. It's a great day to check if they’re on sale. I got lucky and made some purchases yesterday on a couple things that were hugely discounted. I was waiting to get an Echo for my sister as a gift and I've been wanting to get a garbage disposal installed. The garbage disposal was on a pretty big discount, and all home services were 40% off. So a new disposal and installation (new) was going to run me $400-500 probably but I got it all for a bit over $200 insteadThe other side of that is I got a phone mount for the car, an album, some headphones, car power adapter, etc for a combined savings of like $10 bucks or something.

^^^^ Thanks, I'll have to pick up an Fire HD 8 next time they're on sale. Been wanting a tablet for a while with android capabilities for a while, I can wait until the next sale.

^^Thanks for posting that. Those strong numbers are a pretty good indication of how dominant Amazon is over the retail market. I remember reading this article right after cyber monday last year:https://www.forbes.com/sites/tompopomaronis/2016/12/01/black-friday-and-cyber-monday-2016-lets-just-say-there-were-scary-moments/#4ba644cb1306I guess we'll just have to see, but I really hope the 'deals' are better this year than last year.[Edited on July 12, 2017 at 2:39 PM.
