So is Spider-Man not going to be in this?
5/19/2017 4:43:49 PM
Maybe Sony will try an Ultimate universe. They can have the young, cool Spider-man that Marvel controls, and then a darker Spider-man that Sony pulls the strings on.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzxFdtWmjtoWhoever made this trailer should be fired. It's the most generic yawnfest ever. Didn't even include a single shot of Venom? Isn't Carnage supposed to be the villain in this and nothing about him either?
2/8/2018 2:48:13 PM
this is meh as fuck.
2/8/2018 2:50:06 PM
I mean...it's a fucking teaser trailer. Slow your roll.

I didn't think it was all that bad.It will be interesting to see if Spider Man shows up. I mean I guess he has to, right? Do you usually see venom without spider man in the comics? And also, will it follow any of the events set up in the MCU? I realize this is a Sony production but the lines are blurred now that they are sharing rights to spider man.
2/9/2018 8:59:24 AM
^That comes down to how much they are willing to piss off the comic fan boys. Venom gets his look and powers from the symbiote first bonding with Peter Parker. Sure, they could have some other explanation for it in the movie, but if it doesn't relate to Spider-Man somehow, there will be a lot of angry geeks. Not that something like that has stopped them in the past.

just flash back to the dance sequence from SM3 and go from there. perfect movie.
2/9/2018 2:29:35 PM
This really isn't a trailer so much as a teaser.
2/11/2018 11:58:50 AM
i feel like there one guy out there making shitty trailers. he's like the president's son of the movie industry or something.
2/11/2018 4:32:46 PM
This is based on Lethal Predator and Planet of the Symbiotes, which take place after Venom leaves NYC to go to San Francisco. He starts to become more of an anti-hero, I believe Spider Man ends up coming to help him succeed in the comics. So yea hope this doesn't suck.
2/12/2018 12:03:58 PM
^I don't know the comic, but the Golden Gate Bridge is a big giveaway in the trailer that it's located in SF and not NY. Since Peter is focused on being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man I think they can get away with not having him. Unless there's a flashback like how Suicide Squad used short glimpses of Batman. Is Carnage expected to show up?[Edited on February 16, 2018 at 3:13 PM. Reason : -]

^I would say no if they are not including Spider-Man, Carnage didn't show up until Venom had left NYC to be a replacement villain for Spider-Man. They were originally gonna kill off Eddie Brock and have the Venom symbiote be pure evil, but by this time Brock / Venom had become way to popular with fans.Though Venom helping Brock out of prison left its offspring by accident who found Kasady and created Carnage. The 2 series I referenced above deal mostly with the Life Foundation Five: Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.Scream being the most popular one that I remember:Carnage does show up at the end of Planet of the Symbiotes though. Now, if they did include a Carnage final fight without Spider-man / Scarlet Spider then I will be disappointed cause it will be half-assed, if anything they should just do a teaser at the end regarding Carnage if they really want this to be a good origin story for Venom the anti-hero.It's Hollywood, so they will do what they want, but if Spidey isn't going to be in this at all, then just leave Carnage as future installment that you tease.[Edited on February 20, 2018 at 5:21 PM. Reason : ^^Also I have no idea why I typed Lethal Predator, I meant Protector lol.]

I don't disagree Frosh, but I haven't been keeping up on news updates, is it offical that Carnage will be in the movie?I would prefer comic canon but if they don't fuck up it I'll still be satisfied.

Oh, I have no idea. Who could possibly care about this stink bomb?
4/24/2018 6:04:30 PM
I fully expect the movie to be a unmitigated disaster, but I also expected them to pump money into the trailer to make it look amazing (like, get the Duke Nukem Forever trailer team back together). This trailer is an unmitigated disaster itself. The CGI is like the live action Scooby Doo movie, but a kid got into movie maker software and accidentally put the shininess on all the textures through the roof. The dialog is atrocious. The character's motivation is so basic-b*tch.

Early reviews compare this to Catwoman and Tom Hardy said his favorite scenes aren't in the movie.Basically looking like a real shit show

This movie is gonna lose to the Lady Gaga rom-com isn't it?On this plus side, this movie is gonna convince Sony to continue their partnership with Marvel instead of trying to do their own spider-universe again.

It's not accurate to call A Star is Born a "Lady Gaga rom-com." For one thing, the trailer doesn't make it seem like a comedy. For another, Bradley Cooper co-wrote, directed, and stars in it. It's much more of a Bradley Cooper movie. Also, Gaga's fans are Little Monsters, not Stans. [Edited on October 3, 2018 at 11:27 AM. Reason : ////]

Saw it. Not mind-blowing, but not a train wreck. Without giving away spoilers on opening weekend, I would say it's worth the ticket but don't expect something on the level of Logan, or Deadpool. There are two or three scenes that are really well done, but I think they really left some good stuff on the cutting room floor. All the critics are saying that Tom Hardy makes the movie, but I found Eddie Brock by himself annoying. Once you get some back and forth between Eddie and Venom the movie pics up.
10/5/2018 7:43:58 AM
Saw it last night. Not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. Some stupid parts, but all-in-all I liked the interaction between Venom and Brock. Definitely had a little more humor from Venom than I was expecting but it was welcome. Nice little setup for a potential sequel after the credits too.

this is one of the top 3 worst movies i watched in 2018, it's really bad
12/19/2018 12:23:46 PM
I went in expecting it to be 1/10 and it was closer to 5/10. Definitely saw worse movies this year.

I saw many shittier movies, part of them because I'm married. Pacific Rim 2, Overboard, Blockers, Father Figures, I Feel Pretty, I never saw Happytime Murders but I'm pretty sure it was worse. Hell I'd put Super Troopers 2 and Jurassic World in the same bucket as Venom. Had some good/funny moments but overall just average.
12/20/2018 9:36:02 PM
Just watched part 2. One of the worst movies I’ve seen, definitely in a long time, maybe on the all time list.
