Pretty incredible hire for them. I'm not sure anyone saw that coming since he'd only been at Oklahoma State for a year.

damn, just read possible candidates for the Indiana and Oklahoma State job openings. Thank god our search is over. Some of the Indiana possibilities seem ludicrous, but I bet they get a good coach.

he didn't get the Ark St job ^...but what I read that he turned it down, not the other way around. who knows. would think that a Sun Belt job, while a step up from MEAC, isn't exactly a big enough step up for him to leave a good thing at NCCU.

Will be interesting to see what Wade can do at LSU. Will be a barometer for us to see if we fucked up by hiring Keatts over Wade. Granted winning at LSU/ in the SEC is obviously easier, but if Wade can make LSU a relevant/top-25 type program, that will be an accomplishment.

Brownell getting another year at Clemson. Read he has been there like 7 or 8 years now? Man I am old.

has it been confirmed that Wade had an interview with NC State? I saw the rumors and tweets about it, but didn't really see any concrete evidence.

If so, i wonder if that had an impact on him making the jump to LSU and the SEC as opposed to holding out for a Clemson job that could have probably been his for 2018/19.

i don't think we ever interviewed Wade officially. there was surely contact, but not an official interview from what everybody has said. VCU lost on Thursday night on the west coast. he supposedly didn't get back to VCU till Friday afternoon. a couple hours later the news broke that we hired Keatts. sounded like we had planned to interview Wade Saturday. he was also apparently pretty open about potentially being interested in other jobs (LSU and Clemson, maybe others) so Keatts seemed a bit more eager to actually take the job. and i guess he sealed the deal with his interview.

Read today that Brownell's buyout is like $3M. I have a feeling that is a primary reason he is still employed. Definitely on thin ice. He should go and give Dabo a hand job seeing that if the football team wasn't kicking ass, he'd probably already be unemployed. Safe to say many Clemson fans likely didn't care about men's bball this year.
