I agree a total reboot would be god awful, however going the Rogue One route and just telling another specific story within the universe could be done well (it was already proven this could be good with the animatrix)

The Wachowski Brothers/Sisters/ITs/Idontevenknowanymore are washed up and making awful films now. This just doesn't need to be done regardless of whether they do it or not.

Sens8 is pretty good. Had a Christmas Special episode, and pretty sure S2 is coming in the spring, just fyi.
