what gets me is how shocked and outraged people are that this happened and how they initially tried to pin it on a few people and a couple of online groups. any google search for "nude female marine" has unleased a treasure trove. not sure why the are so shocked.*i also think it is interesting that for some reason they feel only female marines deserve not to have their pictures shared but really aren't using this to make a broader case about any woman (or man but most cases a woman) who has their pictures unwillingly shared.[Edited on March 16, 2017 at 8:42 AM. The bottom line is we [US military leaders] have lost control of any sort of behavior on electronic media. We also have forgotten how to hold individuals (vice the organization) responsible for their behavior. So this case totally combines these two factors. 1) We don't know how to find out who's posting naked pictures of people on social media, without using the NSA and violating big time privacy laws, and because of that 2) we can't hold the individuals responsible, so we're dragging up the Commandant of the Marine Corps to Congress to hold him responsible. If social media sites won't share the posters' information (which I don't think they should) then what is a 4-Star supposed to do about it? I'm not even sure there's good evidence that active duty Marines are the ones posting this stuff. While I'm sure AD personnel are active on these sites, you're going to have a hard time proving (without violating privacy laws, or a warrant) that they're the ones posting this content.

But now you're talking about government soldiers doing this mess...Not just your run of the mill civilian.
