I pay my kids in family-made money for chores, good grades, reading, exercising, etc.

They then can buy things (30 mins video game time, etc.) with earned money.

They are 11 and 12 y/o.

Works.

They also lose money if they disobey, fight, don't do chores, etc.

my daughter does her laundry. i prob should make her do more but her mom makes her do a bunch of chores at her house so i figure one parent is enough

Kids take out the trash/recycling, help with laundry, clean the table, and the oldest (13) helps cook on Taco Tuesday as he knows how to make the flour tortillas.
