My neighbors (who never speak) signed up for AT&T fiber... so there's been a temporary cable laying on my driveway and front yard for a couple weeks... annoying, but understandable.

This morning AT&T came to bury the cable. I politely informed them that I have irrigation and TWC internet and being that I'm self-employed and work out of my house that it's really important I don't lose connectivity.

Well, those fuckers cut my TWC line. I told them my internet is out and I've spoken with TWC and there's no outage. They still claim it's not them.

I told them if I don't have internet access, NO ONE DOES.

He kinda laughed and said, I'll check again, but we didn't touch the line.

So I'm fucking livid now. I asked him what they're going to do to fix it and he told me to call TWC to come check the line. I said "no, I can't wait for TWC to schedule a tech to come out. Maybe I can start pulling wires and check it myself. And if I accidentally cut an AT&T wire, so be it.

Fuck these fuckers. It's been a rough week and I'm about to snap like Hank in Me, Myself & Irene.

So they left without fixing my internet. So I tried fixing it myself. Oops, may have cut the wrong wire.

Yeah, I thought about that... then immediately pictured Walter from BL smashing the Corvette.

I reset my modem, called TWC... they said it's a cut line.

Calling for a locate doesn't mean you still won't tear shit up. They're pretty unreliable in my experience.

doesn't matter; you're required by law to do so, and you're required to hand dig within 4' of a locate until you find the utility. You can be fined for digging without an active locate ticket in the area you are working, and it sounds like these guys couldn't be bothered to do things properly.

From what I've seen, roadway corridor contractors use locates. Box to house contractors often do not (even though locates are required by law).
