I always assumed I had a few strains of HPV due to my severe lack of protection during my more promiscuous days. But my wife was 100% during her last ob/gyn visit...so I assume that means I'm clean. Pleasantly surprised.

^As far as I know, there are only three tests women can get for HPV, and none of them are even close to comprehensive. There are like a hundred different strains, and our bodies are pretty good at clearing them. So it's very likely that she is 100% clear of the infection, but there is no test that can confirm it.It would be crazy expensive to test for all of them and pointless since most of them are harmless and clear on their own anyway. If anything, they've been overtesting and overtreating women, and they've finally backed off on it recently. But the article is suggesting the opposite for men. Where we used to overlook men entirely, they seem to be suggesting that younger men and maybe even older ones should be vaccinated since apparently, y'all are way more infected than they were anticipating.

Women over thirty are often tested for HPV every 5 years, but the test covers the high risk strains associated with cervical cancer. Testing positive means that you'll be tested again in 12 months. Typically, the retest is negative because the immune system has been able to clear the infection.Your wife's all clear at her last gynecology appointment has no bearing on your status.

if you're a guy and you're worried you might have HPV there's a product you can buy on amazonit's essentially a jar of ointment - you open the jar and apply liberally to your penis. then you grab your junk with a full fist and vigorously stroke the shaft and head. after some time you nut. collect the ejaculate with a tissue or paper towel and discard. wash your hands and then replace the lid on the jar.i think it's called Vaseline, and it doesn't do anything for HPV, but jerking off it pretty funalso there are much better lubricants available so i'm not really sure why Vaseline became universally associated with masturbation. maybe because it's so ubiquitous?[Edited on January 22, 2017 at 6:04 PM. Serious question if the tests at pregnancy appointments were more inclusive for all HPV strands. Not really making an announcement as I don't care what t-dub things about status as a soon-to-be parent.

Nope. In fact, I wasn't tested for HPV with either one of my pregnancies because I had yet to turn 30. They don't test women under 30.HPV status really doesn't mean much pregnancy wise. [Edited on January 23, 2017 at 6:50 PM. Reason : .]
