Meh. I mean it looks better than the other wolverine (and most x-men) movies, but that bar is unbelievably low. I'll probably still go see it in the theater, but I will not get my hopes up at all. I do like the stab through the head shot, and the fact that it'll be rated R.

Movie looks like its definitely on the right track. But as for the trailer, its one of the best 1st trailers of a movie I have seen.
10/20/2016 3:45:59 PM
needs less dodge, more spidermobile
10/20/2016 4:24:53 PM
So has his healing factor slowed down or something? I never read the old man storyline
10/20/2016 4:25:50 PM
We can all thank Deadpool for them deciding to let this be rated R.
10/20/2016 5:43:20 PM
^^ Yeah basically, which is why he has finally started aging after appearing 30 something for 100+ years.
10/20/2016 6:11:23 PM
I'm guessing people's mutants powers in general have gone away. I'm guessing that's where they are going with this. With the little girl being X-23 and the first one in some time showing powers. Chilling trailer, IMO. Perfect way for him to retire the character.

He just recovered from cancer?
10/20/2016 10:20:09 PM
Anyone read the old man Logan comic? Seem close?
10/20/2016 10:27:55 PM
^ Not close in the slightest. The comic wouldn't translate well into the film as it involves things like a dinosaur that has the Venom symbiot attached to it, the Hulk, and a bunch more elements to it.
10/20/2016 10:33:55 PM
So how did the mutants end up losing their powers? Did it have something to do with that "cure" they created in X-Men 3? Because the timelines have been screwed up and reset so I'm not sure which timeline we're watching here.I guess this is after the Days of Future Past movie? Also, the last time we saw Wolverine (In DOFP), he was a strapping late-40 something dude, which presumably, at the end of the movie, was the current time frame. But it seems like we're just a few years ahead of that movie, and Logan has aged 20 years. Did he start aging at a normal clip, or did his years catch up to him quicker than normal?

Miss this first time around
10/21/2016 12:17:27 PM
I'm so fucking excited for this. That last scene in the trailer in the car is so boss.
1/20/2017 8:19:48 AM
I agree that new trailer is awesome, and I really really hope the movie is, but I'm trying to not let myself get excited for this one, the first 2 attempts at solo wolverine were so god damn abysmal. I think the violence and blood is definitely a move in the right direction though.
1/20/2017 8:48:21 AM
http://comicbook.com/marvel/2017/01/19/wolverine-3-logan-red-band-trailer-released/Last scene is the main difference. And the best.
1/20/2017 8:50:36 AM
^Yes, I also don't know if I can handle either one of them dying in this movie. I really don't know how they will do the Old Man Logan story.

1/20/2017 9:18:08 AM
The Wolverine was Citizen Kane compared to Origins, and had potential, but that giant bear at the beginning was dumb as fuck, and the 3rd act completely fell apart. If it had the R level violence of this one I probably would think of it more fondly
1/20/2017 9:28:33 AM
1/20/2017 12:42:54 PM
Yes, Logan is the only one strong enough to stop Prof X during his attacks
1/20/2017 12:56:10 PM
That flying thru the air shit looks horrible. I thought this would have more of an indie like feel but NOPE. it's Rated R right?
1/22/2017 7:18:29 PM
Yes it's rated R, yes the flying through the air shit looks horrible, just as it has every time they've done it in all the xmen and wolverine movies
1/22/2017 7:34:35 PM
Yea I know it's been in all the films but I thought this film had a different tone and approach to it so they can easily keep it out and no one would miss it.
1/22/2017 10:08:25 PM
Okay, let me get this straight, nOOb.You thought this movie would have "more of an indie like feel."This movie. This movie, which is being produced by Marvel Entertainment and a company that literally specializes in adaptations and shitty sequels and is based on the single most commercialized and overexposed character in the history of superhero comics, is a movie you thought would have "more of an indie like feel" based on...what? The fact that the first trailer featured a hit alternative single that was itself a cover of a hit alternative single?
1/23/2017 8:40:06 AM
Yes the flying through the air thing looks kind of silly but that is the kind of stuff they did in the comics. I guess they are trying to capture that sort of thing. Wolverine and Colossus had a thing called the Fastball Special when Colossus would literally throw Wolverine at an enemy. It just doesn't really translate to live action film that great, but in a world with mutants that can fly and leap all over the place and stuff, it isn't that bad in my opinion.
1/23/2017 8:59:51 AM
^i have zero problem with them doing that type of thing, I just think the way they have done it on the Fox side has consistently looked pretty terrible. Their wire work and fight correography in general have been garbage. Marvel on the other hand has done a fantastic job in those aspects, and still keep with the comic book styles. One of Wolverines catch phrases is that he is the best there is at what he does, but Fox has never really made him look very good at it.
1/23/2017 9:45:49 AM
I thought the flying through the air was pretty cool, but that's just me.I understand because I really cannot stand CGI in general, don't know why but it disrupts my suspension of disbelief
1/24/2017 9:18:40 AM
Wait a second.Marvel, Marvel Marvel in involved in this production?let me see......google.com.....
1/24/2017 4:12:42 PM
Was fucking awesome
3/3/2017 1:12:00 AM
Better than X2 or best movie of 2017?
3/3/2017 7:37:42 AM
Best X-men movie to date, my previous fav being X2.Spoiler free comments: A lot more plot-focused and emotional. Not nearly as many over the top action scenes that we have come to expect from this type of film, but it was a good thing. When there was action, it was REALLY good. I, too, thought the whole flying through the air thing always looked stupid in the X-men movies, but upon seeing it integrated into the actual fight choreography it didn't stand out. One thing that really surprised me was how realistic the movie was. The villain wasn't a big bad overpowered monster, Wolverine wasn't trying to save the world, etc. On top of that, you could see really good chemistry between Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman, both having played characters in a father/son type role over the course of 17 years in both the films and real life. Couldn't have been a better swan song for both of them since they announced that this was their last X-Men film. Good job on the movie makers for casting James McAvoy as young Professor X, they'll be able to use him in future X-men movies without it being weird. Not sure how they will replace Jackman as Wolverine though. The R-rating REALLY helped this by the way. It is kind of sad that we've gone 17 years and 9 X-men movies before Wolverine really got to go absolutely nuts killing people and swearing. The violence is extremely graphic, with full on beserker barrage decapitations and dismemberment. I didn't think much of it in the previous movies, but this one really showed what you'd expect Wolverine to be like.SPOILERS BELOWOnly a few major gripes honestly. First of all, kind of lame how they ended the X-men. The radio announcer mentioned that Professor X had accidentally killed 8 X-men during one of his seizures. You'd think if they were going to kill off the X-men, it would be in some grand fight rather then all at once, off screen. I know that still leaves a lot of time between Age of Apocalypse and Logan to have adventures, but damn. It will prob be retconned in the future though, the series is already full of inconsistencies. What was the deal with getting to the Canadian border? Why would the kids be safe in Canada? This organization chased them across Mexico, murdered an entire family and plenty of other innocent civilians, and committed all sorts of other crimes. Why would they stop chasing them when they crossed the Canadian border? Crossing international lines once is okay but twice is taking things too far?
3/3/2017 8:27:06 AM
There are like 30 alternate futures in the Marvel universe anyway.
3/4/2017 9:16:25 AM
spoilersMovie is freaking fantastic. So brutal. The farm house scene. The audience has the same perspective as Charles when he wakes up and everyone figures out whats going on at the same time! Brilliant!^^It is implied there is help across the border. A deep read into it suggests Alpha Flight, a Canadian version of the X-Men. Might morph into X-Flight if they continue with the young characters introduced in this movie.
3/4/2017 10:37:59 AM
It was...fine. I'd probably give it a solid B, but still nothing spectacular. I don't feel like I'll ever want to watch it again. Felt a little long IMO, and not that I mind cursing in the least bit, but they actually overdid it with the "fuck"s I thought. Yeah, we get it, you're rated R. I thought the gore helped immensely. Fox marvel films never bother to do anything that cool looking with fight choreography, so having the blood and gore made the fighting much more entertaining for me.
3/4/2017 3:47:19 PM
I thought it was an incredible movie. But it takes it out of you. I likened it to watching The Revenant or American Sniper. You're absolutely exhausted after watching it and you don't walk out cheering like you would Civil War or The Avengers.
3/4/2017 9:53:32 PM
You're exhausted because it's half an hour too long
3/4/2017 10:19:51 PM

^the full version released online apparently has the Stan Lee cameo, the version shown before Logan does not.

^ That, sorry.

I loved this movie, but it also left me more depressed than I would have imagined even if I knew what was going to happen. My favorite movies and books are stories on the same level as this (Grapes of Wrath, Cool Hand Luke, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), but this was missing that element of hope or any light which really kept it so much heavier. It was really awesome. I'm sad that I won't see these two actor/character combinations again.
3/9/2017 9:08:01 AM
The 2 people that died were extremely old and sick and all the kids were able to get away safely, how is that not an element of hope or light?
3/9/2017 9:28:31 AM
In retrospect I guess I'm more looking at the whole "life" of Logan, not necessarily this movie alone. He goes out on one final note of saving the kids and feeling good about that, but overall he just led an extremely miserable life and this seems a small consolation. If you compare to the characters I was referring to (Tom Joad, Luke, McMurphy) they all experienced either significantly more joy or were at least devoted participants in their causes.
