Kinda cool that it is set in NC and the Lost Colony plays a big part in it, but outside of that this season has been the worst one in my opinion.

I had to quit watching the show several seasons ago, never really enjoyed it since the first season. I've been watching this one... it's a little entertaining, but pretty silly.

And it doesn't appear like they put in any effort to actually make it look like NC. It appears to be in California, sandy soils and deserty vegetation, mountains on the coast, doesn't look like old NC architecture, the cars don't even have NC license plates.

First season of American Horror Story was fantastic. Second season was at least watchable.

Everything since then has been, for the most part, awful IMO. And you're right about the producers apparently thinking the NC coastline is bordered by mountains. Hard to take things serious about that

I liked the hotel season, but it still wasn't nearly as good as the first two seasons. I thought it wouldn't get any worse than the witch season but this one is pretty bad. Dylan McDermott and Zachary Quinto really brought a lot to the table in the first seasons.

I'm watching the Hotel season now, and I feel like American Horror Story is going the way of Nip/Tuck - shock for the sake of shock.

Season 1 was definitely the best season, nobody argues that. And season 1 probably had the least gore, the lease amount of weird S&M - don't get me wrong, there was some, like the rubber suit guy, but it got much worse.

I'm really happy that they're done with the whole "re-enactment and storytelling" part of the season. That was cute/clever for 1-2 episodes but that's about it. Really curious to see what they do with the rest of the season.

From a more general perspective, however, I think the whole premise/storyline is dumb.

As everyone said the first season was by far the best. This season isn't anything to write home about but it is worth keeping up with. So did they wrap up this little story and starting another?

I really like Kathy Bates and Evan Peters a lot, but neither are exactly Meryl Streep when it comes to doing accents. If you can't nail it, its so much better to not try.

For Hotel, did they ever explain the purpose of the demon that looked like she belonged in Silent Hill? And also the reason for sewing people up in mattresses?

Last episode was better. I'm liking the new direction the season is going, the re-enactments weren't too great in my opinion.

Also, Sarah Paulson's "English" accent is awful.

I didn't like the new direction until this episode. Man, shit got dark.

Agreed. Though, TBH, I'm just not much a fan of her as an actress, period.

Full on train wreck mode at this point.

Also wtf with the estranged wife just murdering her husband like that. And why the fuck didn't Cuba jump in after she hit him with the crowbar once. You know, instead of waiting to grab her after she turned his skull into a pancake?

^Only reason I can think of is maybe he really does love her and he wanted her to love him? She wanted to be with her husband and if he is dead then he can't get in the way? I guess maybe he was hoping she could get off with a short sentence if she pleads insanity?

maybe?

I mean, pretty sure that marriage would be beyond reconciliation after the first blow to the head with the crowbar, right?

Yeah well I'm grasping at straws here. I don't know why else he would. I guess if Matt were still alive, she'd still want to be with him and nobody else...? I seem to recall at some point when he was trying to calm her down he said that he had to pull her off him or something too which clearly wasn't the case. It may not have been that exactly, but I think he said something that was contrary to actually what happened.

Sidenote: when Matt was banging the witch ghost thing in the basement and Shelby showed up, why did it just freak out and run away? Hasn't it been killing shit all season? Why wouldn't it just kill Shelby/other dude, then get back to having her fun?

I take it that Cuba is all about the ratings as well, so he probably thought the bludgeoning of someone on screen would be great for that and that is why he let it happen- he is the bad guy after all.

The ghost which thing seems sort of innocent in a weird way. We've seen her inspire others to kill but never kill herself and she's also been in real need for companionship.

So it said that everyone dies but one individual. For a while I thought it would be Matt because of his relationship with the wood demon, with my other guess being Agnus. Both are gone now. We also have 2 or 3 episodes left and not many players left, so I am really curious how things will transpire.

I continue to enjoy this season, although the trailer for next week's episode doesn't seem entertaining. This week's would have been good enough for a season finale.

This season fucking blows. Maybe I should have stopped watching, but every week I'm all hopeful that "maybe tonight is the season finale?"
