So my 2005 Honda CRV is reliable, comfortable and just an all around great car. Except that its slow as balls, and sucks in the mountains.

Its got the K24 motor, AWD with the 5 speed manual.

Can Add turbo/Supercharger and make more go? Add in more clean colorado air and put out blissful BOV noises Shhhewww Shewwww?

This reasonable task? Or am I playing with fire in the area of stability? Perhaps more better K20 heads, make more vroom?

I say go for it. 6 psi blowing on that engine shouldn't affect reliability much. Only thing I'd be concerned with is the rear drive part of the AWD system. The rear axles on those CRVs look comically thin and fragile.

I guess my point was, which engine would you choose? Performance wise (by the given numbers) there is likely no difference. I doubt the turbo gives you much mpg gains since you'll be in boost all the time just to get the car moving. Power delivery is probably more interesting with the turbo but I'm sure the CVT neuters most of that.

if it has to be reliable don't do it.

If its a 2nd car... sure have fun.

truth is you could probably DD a turbo CRV....

after you fixed all the poor fitting pipes rattling on the chassis, the boost leak or vacuum leak you're bound to create etc.

this shit is always easier said than done.

i mean if someone makes a RSX supercharger kit that fits i'd consider that.

Its weird... at 200-300 hp i feel superchargers are more reliable. at 600hp+ turbos all day long... belt's don't seem to hold up long there.
