A lot of what Gaines argued echoes similar thoughts coming out of soveirgn citizen movements

And to be honest, it seems like Gaines was an unstable individual perhaps suffering from PTSD. Like the Dallas shooter, it seems like she was deeply troubled by the interaction between police and the black community.

After living here, I didn't think it was possible to get a traffic violation in Baltimore.

Taking down her facebook page was strange, considering most of her videos put her in a negative light. She even says " You gonna have to murder me" during one of her police stops. Apparently she meant it.

What think unsettles me about deactivating the Facebook and Instagram accounts is this:

After the Castillo shooting, the reaction video that was uploaded to Facebook was so powerful because it showed the immediate aftermath; with no time for anyone involved to concoct a story or misremember the events which transpired. That video was originally taken down, which faceboom claimed was a glitch.
Here, the accounts were deactivated, and most of the videos removed after a petition by the police.

It does very little to assuage public fears that the police arent being transparent when they act in this manner. No body cameras. And the recorded footage surrounding the event disappears.

They said people online were urging her to fight the police and shoot them. How do you attempt to de-escalate somebody when you have lots of other people egging her on? Sounds like the police were damned if they do, damned if they don't in that circumstance.

the Castillo shooting video on Facebook showed the gun bouncing around in the guy's lap, but that didn't stop the narrative about the guy getting shot for reaching for his wallet.

But a shotgun with slugs could blow a hole in the floor, roof, ceiling of an apartment. I could do that right now even if I was barricaded in. They probably evacuated those people, but how far do you go in each direction? Also, unlike Oregon she had a child inside with her. If she is mental she might try to harm him, kill him, or use him as a human shield. It seems like she has a history of mental instability and combining that with weapons usually ends badly for everybody.

Fact of the matter is that the mother has a personal responsibility to herself and her children. What could have been a non-issue escalated into a terrible situation because she made some poor choices.

Do cops keep a database of people in their system with notes that describe them? Aside from providing info on whether there are outstanding warrants for a person and what their priors were, is there a place that describes previous arrests or altercations to aid the police ahead of time?
