I legitimately feel bad for some of the Chris Farley "fat jokes" that I lost my shit over and repeated endlessly when I was a kid. I really did think he was the greatest of all time for many of my younger years though.

I mean, I still laugh at many of those jokes, but this interview touches on some of the ways that Farley didn't take all of that as 100% fun and games. Not to mention some of his anxiety based on performing/being accepted. Dude was kinda tortured.

Every comedian is tortured.

They say comedy is really the ability to link two seemingly unlinked objects or events in a way that's humorous.

That's an ability common to bipolar disorder.

Bipolar people tend to self medicate to try to feel normal.

i watch most of the jimmy fallon tv show youtube clips. he is good in the scripted segments but not so much in the interviews. he busts out laughing at things not that funny too often
