And plans for the weekend in general.

It's probably a good time to discuss burger recipes too.

Going for a hike on Sunday. Going flying on Monday before heading to a cookout.

If you are looking for some cheeseburger recipes, this is all you need:

http://www.cheeseandburger.com/

I've made about half of them. They are all great.

Whew boy. Tomorrow heading into DC to surprise a Peace Corps friend. Saturday possibly heading back into DC to get drunk with other Peace Corps friends. I wish we could just spend the night with somebody but now we've got the damn dog.

Monday we will get drunk on yet another Peace Corps friend's roof in Baltimore and watch fireworks. No grill, though, which means no burgers. But we'll probably go to the Indian buffet for lunch, and there's nothing more American than appropriating another culture and eating way too much.

Eating a boat is the most American way to celebrate Independence.
Two if by sea? Don't think so.

Our neighbors, who have become some of our closest friends in Raleigh, are moving back to NY next weekend so this weekend is essentially going to be our last hurrah.

Friday: Hitting up a brewery for a couple pints this afternoon, then hanging out with said neighbors around the house. Probably playing board games or something somewhat low key
Saturday: Cookout at the house - burgers, beer, bourbon, cigars, fireworks
Sunday: Depending on the hangover, probably hitting up a friend's pool
Monday: Sleeping all day

I'm also off wednesday-friday next week

I mean I guess, but I think I've made my point.

And in case you missed it, my point is that I'm a socially starved newcomer to the region whose circle of "friends" is better described as some former work acquaintances, none of whom I ever actually knew that well and all of whom are better established than I in this region because they had the sense to go home after two years.

Probably the most appropriate thread to remind everyone. BBQ is meat (specifically, pork). BBQ is not a verb, a grill, a cookout or a party.

Please be sure to remind all your Yankee friends as often as possible.

Gotta cut some grass at some point. Maybe this evening if this last rain shower dries up enough.

Heading out to the Texas hill country. Going to eat some good food, shoot some guns, drive heavy machinery, take care of some sheep, and drink whiskey (not at the same time obviously). Merica.
