we both talked in a JoCo accent and i got to el rodeo before she did and sold the whole cousin thing. I said i hadn't seen my cousin in forever and had no idea how long it's been and that she was meeting me there. when she got there i got a dude to record our "cousin reunion" and she was like OMG cousin haven't seen you in three weeks! then we kissed each other and confused the shit out of the cameraman. (first time i'd met the girl). we stayed in character for a while and it was the most funny first date i've been on. going on a second sometime soon.

Two things: I am SO thankful they ended the article with this. Too many times the media will only focus on the sensational aspects of a story, like the gruesome details of the crime or the sordid past of the accused, with only a brief mention of the victim. It is awesome that they talked about the boy whose life is no longer, and anyone who reads the article now "knows" him in some small way.

The bolted part made my throat catch and eyes swell up. Not because it's sad, but because it's so sweet and pure and makes my heart break that this awesome little dude is gone while the earth is left with that Melissa lady.
