I was asking myself that question a lot. yes and no. I've been going through a very hard separation and divorce. My [alleged] rebounds (after we separated) were both married (i didn't know that at the time for either) and one of their husbands actually worked at the same school I did. That hit me very hard and the guilt on my end was overwhelming even though i didn't know when it first happened. I've gotten help from a psych. was on meds for anxiety. now off meds. now seeing a counselor and am healing.

2016 for Smath74:
Lost wife.
Got girlfriend. Fell in love. she was married. lost a second love.
Concurrently met a Jewish girl. fell in love. turned out she was married too. walked her around like a dog and ripped her labia.
First rebound went on my phone and found about second fling. drama ensues. they both get pissed (even though they are both married and i am single, a fact i didn't know at the beginning of each.)
They both continue with smath74 for a while due to understanding. the librarian however becomes ultrapossessive and torpedoes the relationship with the wealthy married jew girl.
And then torpedoes every other potential relationship i could get into regardless that i had already called it off because i found out she was married.
So i told her husband i fucked her raw and that's why she recently had gotten on birth control.
Fucked up? maybe. but i came to respect him more than her, especially since i didn't know beforehand. (i wasn't her first rodeo) (she used that specific quote and later gave me details)

this is all after i was legally separated. i'm not saying i've made the best choices, but i've been told by some lawyerish folk that once you are legally separated it's ok. it was not my choice to get separated.

and i was very respectful towards him. i sent him a kindly worded letter of apology. it comes across as vindictive the way i posted it, but it was out of pure guilt and respect for the guy. he is a great dude and the weird thing is his wife made me get to know him... and it was formatted as an apology. I'm not the first guy she has preyed upon outside of marriage and i felt he needed to know. i was stupid and vulnerable and she took advantage of that. he is sweet and trusting and she took advantage of that more than once over the years. i'm sure he hates me and i don't blame him one bit. but he needed to know.

and thank you for the thoughts about me being sad. i'm healing now. just takes time.
