We have a nice house on a huge lot in a neighborhood but have decided we want a pool. We are debating on sinking the 40-50k into our current house or just buying a new house. The X factor is that we're pretty tired of the HOA here. (we just got fined for outlining our planters in the same stone that's on our house it looks great and the neighbors love it.)

Moving fucking sucks and the cost of selling/buying a new home plus moving expenses can easily approach $40-$50k. I'd just put a pool at your current house assuming you are happy with everything else the home offers. Fuck the idea of dropping $50k on a pool though. You won't get anywhere near that in ROI and you'll have to maintain that bitch which sucks and is expensive. Get a saltwater pool if you do put one in.

how the heck does moving cost you anywhere near 50k ? You get nearly 0 ROI on a pool unless you build an outdoor living area to go with it.Which is why i'd like to find a house for 40k more that already has that sht in it.

Owning a pool sucks, dont do it. just like a boat, you will regret it the day you own it.[Edited on June 14, 2016 at 4:52 PM. Reason : sas]
