I'm a current 23yo resident of Brent rd. The parties get pretty rowdy from time to time, but I've heard some exceptionally wild stories about Brent rd in the 90's and early 2000's. Anybody have some stories to tell?

I went to a house party there once, with about 40 guys who were all smoking cigs, 8 girls of moderate attractiveness, and 1 keg of beer. Cops busted it up around 1 AM.

90's and early 2000's? Man, I STILL maintain a dwelling for use, storage, or sale of controlled substances on Brent Road.

I've got some stories about the old brent road block parties back in the mid/late 90s, but i don't remember them.

I heard there was a slip n slide party, hosted by user sparky, that featured a wet t-shirt contest among a bunch of semi-attractive females.

Who was that dick whose purpose was to enforce the nuisance ordinance? Was it Bowen, or something like that? We somehow got away with a giant party with 5 kegs, only to get arrested for throwing a friend a BYOB 21st with like 15 people.

I lived at 521 with 3 other girls for a year. Some good times were had.

The guy who ended up bartending at PBs forever with the backwards hat.... freshman year they put a beer in my buddies microwave and it exploded and they drove off quickly... Well they went the wrong way... so then they had to turn around and drive back by the house slowly since everyone was double parked.... while his jeep got pelted by every remaining beer or object in the house haha

My old roommate found a credit card and bought a beebe gun and Nintendo 64 with it... Then saw someone cutting through the grass of the backyard and shot him with it haha. Pretty quick arrest

Buddy bought a broken boat and put it on the front lawn. Everyone would drink in it in the afternoon and shout at girls walking by to come drink in the boat. Worked quite often. Landlord comes to say you can't park automobiles in the lawn it's in the lease. He says yeah but it dosent say anything about a fucking boat hahaOil leak ruined that lawn

Nah, it wasn't Kirkman. This was the nuisance ordinance officer that did almost exclusively that, circa 2003 or 2004. If it wasn't Bowen, it was something close to that.

^^ Bowen definitely sounds like the guy who enforced it.

Kirkman was the city council member that was the architect of the NPO.He is still douching up West Raleigh running some citizens advisory committee now. When he tried to sell his house on Brent Rd he wanted to but a deed restriction that the new owner could not rent it out....IIRC it did not sell like that. That shows how much if a giant douche he is though... expecting someone to pay full market price for his house, but devalue it with an un-necessary deed restriction no other house had. Like his house was special or something. ]

I was in high school still but when we were juniors/seniors we'd go up to Brent Rd on weekends looking for parties. Found them easily.

^^ You're right about Kirkman. I knew there was a reason I associated him with the nuisance party ordinance.

I lived there for a year. some of the best times/parties we've ever had. we had this one party in which a fat girl kicked two holes in our wall and then later these three girls wanted to hang out with us and get in a hot tub at their house but our roommate was puking his guts up, which led to his girlfriend calling the cops and a series of misdemeanors.another party some people stole our laptops and playstations and then bolted. We had someone we suspected and when asked that turned into a fight, with my roommate getting hit in the head with a glass and some of their posse getting beat with an aluminum broom and swiffer and then kicked into a corner. later the cops showed up, found our weed and a stolen fire hydrant but only said we should hide our stuff better next time.there was also this other party we through in which these kids decided to try and steal our keg. we busted them and they said they just wanted to have drinks at the front of the house. we got our paintball gun and pegged them rapidly all over. cops were called again and gun was taken but no tickets written.it was good times and basically like earning a law degree.
