For some reason, my downstairs thermostat no longer works (but the unit does work if it's plugged into the upstairs zone). The wires don't look loose or anything, so I guess I need someone to come out and look. Any recommendations?

I recommend you replace your downstairs thermostat. Takes 5 minutes to swap out and if it doesn't fix the problem, you can return it. Way cheaper than paying a $100 service call plus time on top of that.

^this. Sorry, I didn't read the post. If it's a bad thermostat, GET YOU ONE, DAWG. If that doesn't solve the issue, return it and then call an HVAC company.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but trying the downstairs unit upstairs works fine. Trying the upstairs unit downstairs doesn't work

If you have a multi-meter, make sure the thermostat is getting power from the wiring. There's a transformer that provides the low voltage. It might have gone bad. It's an easy fix if it has.

I sent a PM but I use Allen Kelly. Friend of mine is a salesman and does great work. Think they're mostly a Trane shop, but they service it all.
