made it to around episode 10 (maybe 11?) last night. Still on the fence overall though that is more likely due to my heightened expectations going into it.

^ It was already delayed release after the Vegas shooting, and sadly that thought process in the current climate would result in it never getting released...

Irrelevant to the Punisher thread but yeah, we've been married since 2008. Been together since before my 2004 arrest over the blotter incident.

Relevant to the Punisher thread, I'm up to episode 7 and have been surprised by the relative lack of gunplay. For a show about the Punisher, there is surprisingly little shooting.

Liking it so far (episode 7 or 8). I did expect a little more outright carnage, but the story is good enough. I am hoping they don't drag out certain plot points; that killed the tempo in Jessica Jones, which should have been 2-4 episodes shorter than it was. I was surprised to see this series had 13 episodes.

I would rank what I have seen as middle of the pack for the Marvel Netflix; it is better than Iron Fist, Defenders, and the second half of Luke Cage; Daredevil the first half of Luke Cage are better. Jessica Jones is hard to rank since it has highs and lows throughout.

I made it 3.5 episodes before I couldnt take anymore....it sucks ass and looks hella low budget. Sux cause I had decent expectations for it, and the actor dude is a pretty good fit for the role, but the story line is just crap. Nobody gives a fuck about Punisher investigating government conspiracies, we just want to see him brutalize criminals. Is that so hard?

Overall really enjoyable. A return to form for marvel netflix. Suffers from being 13 episodes though. Would have made a nice tight 8 and really improve the pacing.

Loved it!

Berenthal is perfect. Dude never runs out of blood and nobody looks any worse for wear even after all the beatings that are taken. Frank gets beat to fuck at the end and has a couple bruises. Lol

Still enjoyed the show though

I loved reading the Punisher comics growing up. He and Deadpool were always my favorite anti-heroes. This is by far the best interpretation of the character on screen. Jon Bernthal was the perfect casting choice. Really looking forward to another season.

Thought it was really good. I too was surprised at the beginning of the lack of violence, because remembering back to Daredevil season 2, the Punisher was ultra-violent there.

Then the last couple of episodes, they really cranked up the carnage. Like to level 12.

I rank this third behind DD1 and JJ (I liked Luke Cage's character better but the show as a whole wasn't as good after Mahershala Ali's episodes were done).

Russo was a great villain, I loved the symbolism and use of mirrors throughout the whole series...and then to get that ending...so good. He was also reading Dorian Grey at one point which just adds to the cleverness of it all. I'll be excited to see him come back as Jigsaw. Also, Lewis was the best side character arc I've seen on any of these shows.

I've felt this way about every Netflix Marvel series except for Jessica Jones...it was the only one that really used each episode for a fully thought out purpose.
