There seems a new church-like building under construction along the Centennial Parkway. A huge one with golden top. Very impressive. Anyone knows what it is? Looks like a chapel.

The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh is building a new cathedral in that vicinity--I'm assuming that's what it is. It will replace the 1920's era Sacred Heart Cathedral downtown (the smallest cathedral in the continental US).

Dat tax free construction perpetuating its intellectual agenda into future minds

So true story, I was walking downtown with Solinari late one night many moons ago, and I shared a bit of trivia I'd heard: The difference between a town and a city is widely considered to be that a city has a cathedral.Solinari scoffed and said that could not be, because it would mean Raleigh is a town.We were walking right in front of Sacred Heart.

Yes, it's the new Catholic cathedral...they are also moving all the Diocese offices there as well (from their current location off Creedmoor Rd in North Raleigh)

So we are finally are city now!
4/22/2016 4:16:39 PM
Remember that time the catholics murdered 14,000 of their own people in France because 6000 'other christians' might have been there?
4/22/2016 4:17:39 PM
LOL @ finallySacred Heart Cathedral was built in the early 1920s

Probably. But now it can be found out on Chinese version of google. Chinese people actually don't appreciate their culture very much. The Red Guard destroyed it during the cultural revolution, just like ISIS does.^ I don't understand your question.[Edited on April 22, 2016 at 4:39 PM. Reason : ;]

i believe the barriers to that are 1) affordable mobile ground to satellite communication2) sufficient number of assets in orbit to support the traffic of numerous individual users3) national security concerns of various nations
4/22/2016 4:39:18 PM
The security concern is obviously No. 1. Especially for communist countries.
4/22/2016 4:42:08 PM
Yeah but space tech is totally gonna take off eventually, if not by actual demand and innovation then maybe through the collective unconcious by virtue of the fact that people mostly the ones who are producing pop culture actually believe or choose to support scientology
4/22/2016 5:59:23 PM
I think its a church.
