Have the GTO apart, and trying to figure out if i should go with Koni Yellows + upgraded springs or BC Coilovers.Cost will be the same for both, but I get ride height adjustment from the coilovers. Also with the Koni's i have to chop up my OEM strut and put the koni insert in.Thoughts?

What model bc s? I heard some rattle and some don't.

Koni has lifetime warranty, if you plan on keeping the car for a reasonably long time.I believe TKE-Teg has used that warranty on his Teggy. I would go Koni because I love their product line. With that said, unless you're handy with the steel for the retrofit or can stomach the bill to get a shop to do it for you, go with the coilovers for simple install. I've had BC coils on the maxima for nearly 50k miles at this point, and I have no complaints. I went from eibachs to coils. I'm 3.5" lower than factory, and still have a decent ride. It is firm, but not bouncy at all. I also upgraded to Swift springs when I bought them, as people online said they helped the ride. I would choose coils every time now, purely for the adjustability. You can adjust damping, preload, and ride height. Hiro has driven the car as well, so he can contribute on ride quality if he wants. If you blow the BCs, new inserts are $100.[Edited on February 16, 2016 at 6:01 PM. Reason : .]

They were firm, but not miserable. The ride quality felt sporty and firm, without being uncomfortable or unbearable. I wouldn't be disappointed if that was your only option.

another factor,i can probably get 245-255 width tires up front, and possibly squeeze in 285s on the back with the coil overs. Currently stuck at 235s and 275 in the back.I'm digging the coil overs for ease of install. I really don't feel like hacking up stock suspension in order to install the Konis.[Edited on February 17, 2016 at 12:27 AM. Reason : dd]

just a really quick glance (at 240sx offerings) but the BC's seem to be a run of the mill Megan Racing/Apexi/Tein/etc coilover that come from one Chinese factory in different colors.Koni yellows plus some Ground Control coilovers however, can be found on many nationally-competitive autox and scca cars

And BC racing arent ;-)

Pretty sure a couple time attack cars run BC ER series.. or did...I would agree they're not the best but i don't think they're the worst either.[Edited on February 19, 2016 at 3:40 PM. Reason : .]

I think BC is one of the best Chinese coilover options, but I'd rather have Koni even with the additional work to install.

I'd skip the BCs and buy the maverick man setup if you aren't going to go high dollar (pedders etc). I have only met 1 G8 owner on BCs that didn't say their car rode like shit. They may be better for GTO but on the G8 they are over dampened like crazy and even on the softest setting they will make you wish you had a mouth piece.http://www.maverickmancarbon.com/products/maverick-man-coilovers-for-04-06-gtos[Edited on February 20, 2016 at 11:21 AM. they got them wet?maybe thats the problem.
2/20/2016 8:44:06 PM
Not sure I understand lolBC did no research or testing on the G8, they just packaged up a kit and sold it. I assume its the same for GTO so I'd stay away from them. It takes like a hour to install the koni inserts, its not that hard.

...ebonics, its slips out of me from time to time.

Maveric Man is just the rebranded BC.Pedders is just a rebranded BC.The only one that isn't are the 2k coilovers.Money wise, coilovers are 800-900For Koni's i'm looking at around 1.2k.(Front Springs, Koni Insert, End Links, Rear Konis). I'm going to try to take a strut off today and see what the bump stops look like, because I'm sure like everything else rubber on the car its a POS that has started falling apart.
2/22/2016 1:34:00 PM
Mav Man's are rebranded CX racing as far as I know.
2/22/2016 2:21:55 PM
is there a difference between CX racing and BC? I'm not aware of one.
3/27/2016 5:00:29 PM
Nope, CX racing are essentially a knock off BC, so same product just cheaper. I installed front/rear koni's with eibachs on the G8 2 weeks ago. Absolutely love them and highly recommend you get them unless you really want/need height adjustment. My only issue with the Koni's is I can't adjust the rears on the car so they are set to halfway and I'll most likely never touch them again.

ended up going with the koni's as i found them for sale for $569 otd.I'm not dropping the car and going with lovells springs, kinda wanted to go over to king springs, but since i already had the rear 0 drop.I've been sitting on a poly brushing kit for about 2 or 3 years and have been slowly putting them in as well (As well as new sway bar end links).
3/28/2016 10:38:29 AM
They are on!along the way i have found.1 badly screwed up sway bar enndlink2 bad outer tie rod endsnumber of bad bushings.

Well i can't embed a fucking image from google.Anyway, I bought a Ryobi Impact wrench to help with the job, have to say the thing is bad ass and saved me a significant amount of time.[Edited on May 9, 2016 at 5:16 PM. Reason : dd]
