"A runner in Saturday morning’s Krispy Kreme Challenge has died after dropping out of the race in the first mile because of chest pains, race organizers said Saturday afternoon.

The runner, a 58-year-old man, left the race and was taken to Rex Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, organizers said in a news release."

Running isn't good for you at that age. Amazes me that people do it anyway.

It's not like you're doing something unhealthy that's fun like eating bacon or drinking beer. You're running. One of the least enjoyable things in the world past age 9

I was referring to the comments section in which they were saying he died after eating 2 donuts which would be impossible as he had not even reached the donuts yet

A few decades ago, "strawberry" on the label of a food item would have meant the food contains real strawberries, but with corporate greed and deception having reached record levels, as well as the mass dumbing down of society, that's not the case anymore. That's why [most] packaged/processed foods now carry statements such as...

Quote :
"Contains REAL strawberries!""

...if they contain, well, real strawberries, because otherwise, consumers wouldn't know if it was any different from a competitor which did not include the world "real". (Well, they could find out by reading the ingredients label, but most don't do that for one reason or another.)

But yes, she is definitely exceedingly ignorant for thinking that a donut would give her "proper nutrition" even if it did contain [real] fruit filling. Or she is just devious and wants to make money, which she won't, considering other similar suits against KK have been thrown out in the past.

I read they paid $2 million more than the property was assessed for...

You don't pay that type of money if you're wanting to keep the current business up and running.

KK Challenge moving to Knightdale?

So the Krispy Kreme on Peace St is closing?

Why didn't the jackass that brought that up in the thread provide a news link?

I think your assessment here is inaccurate. Apparently Krispy Kreme has been liquidating land to and then leasing it back from this same company.

"Broadstone paid more than double the total assessed value of around $2 million for the two parcels, which make up just under an acre of land.

Broadstone KKD Portfolio LLC has bought a number of Krispy Kreme properties recently, including properties in Nashville, Tenn., and Chattanooga, Tenn., earlier this month.

I don't think it necessarily points to closing. The portfolio that bought it has purchased several KK locations.

I really thought we had great representation from the group of people highly familiar with multi-million dollar commercial real estate deals and what exactly they mean!
