Anyone going? Also, just wondering is it possible to walk to/from the Marriott nearby?

10 minute walk[Edited on January 27, 2016 at 3:28 PM. Reason : often the walk from the parking can be worse there]

Yeh, we got there before it opened and by the time we got in, some shit was already out. A lot of food vendors ran out by late afternoon as well.

If anyone is planning to buy the non-vip tickets (beer only), hit me up. Bought 2 and can't go, I'll eat the extra fees/taxes.

What would be a good time to try to be there? Tickets and room booked. I was ready for this day drinking. Ocracoke during Halloween has prepared me for this. lol

Went last year, so if it's anything like it was last year:1.) If you didn't get a VIP ticket, you won't really get any bacon, so plan accordingly. 2.) If you really do want to try all of the food, get there somewhat early. A few of the vendors actually ran out of food before the VIP time was over last year, almost all were out when the VIP session ended.3.) Avoid this event if you're into mainly wine or ciders, as last year they had 1 wine booth and only a couple of ciders available. Thought the 2-3 liquor/whiskey booths were a nice surprise.4.) We took an Uber last year to and from, it worked well.Overall, if I was going back again this year, I'd get there early. The 2nd half of the VIP session you could see the crowd getting a bit larger, but once the VIP session was over, you could see the dam burst and a large wave of people just descending down the walkaways to the booths. When that started, you really were waiting in line for a while to taste some of the more sought-after beers. That being said, it wasn't hard to get your fill, especially if you had someone with you. We'd let one person stand in the food line and someone else go refill the little beer cups. Then when the food was gone, we'd keep one person in the line and another would just find the shortest line to get more beer for the wait.[Edited on March 29, 2016 at 9:34 AM. Reason : .]

I did a good job of trying all the food last year and getting pretty drunk, and it was my first time so it's really not that complicated. I was just offering up the things I noticed from last year that I would have used if I was going again this year.I'd just suggest you definitely get VIP, esp. if you want to actually try the food. Plus if you get VIP, you should have time to get a buzz before the masses appear. I wouldn't mind going again this year, but with a preggers wife, not really something I was pushing for.
