Was, wasn't expecting that, but I can see why. Only big losses were Ratledge and Fincher. We lost a couple pitchers to the draft, but nobody that isn't replaceable.

Pitching wise -- we've still got our ace (Brown), our closer (DeJunas), and a couple good bullpen guys (Gilbert, Piedmonte, Orwig, etc). Plus I've heard the transfer (Adler) is the real deal.

Offensively -- Palmero, Dunand, Knizner should all have big years. Shepherd, Deathrage are solid too.

Key to the season will be if Wilder, O'Donnell & DeJuneas have improved their control from last season. Easily 3 of the better guys on the team in terms of what they can bring to the pitching staff - just have to be able to locate more consistently.

Adler, Conley & LeGrant seem to be the big additions in terms of transfers/freshman who will make the most difference from what I've read online.

We played LeGrant 2 times a year for all of his years in High school. Has a real good swing and eye for the baseball. Other than Brett Austin when he was at Providence, Legrant is the best defensive player I have coached against at the high school level in 6 years. He played short and was all over the place making plays, interesting to see how he adapts to possibly 3rd. Again its only high school, but I'm excited to see how he does.

^Brett Austin, guy hit anything for power and gaps. Had decent speed for a catcher. Was a true ball player. And this might sound like a bit of a homer, but second is LeGrant.
Alot of the guys going to college from our area are pitchers, i.e. Alex Wood.

Bottom of the 9th up 13-7, the big bats came out tonight, Deathridge, Legrant, Palmy JR, plus all the speed at the top gives one a nice taste of what we can expect from the offense this year.

The pitching for 2nd game in a row was shaky at best, gave up multiple homers today, and just now in the 9th just about gave up another.

Regardless I think the pitching will settle down as the season progresses, this is looking like a nice win.
