When did you experienced your last year of childhood? What year was it and what was it like? I got bored at work today and watched some reruns of The Wonder Years. It made me reminisce about my childhood. I realized that my childhood was different from my sister's.

1994 was the last year of childhood for me. I was 14 and about ready to enter high school. It was a pretty wild summer. I sat at home watching the 1994 World Cup, the OJ Simpson drama started, my family went back home to Iowa for a week. Forrest Gump and The Mask were the popular summer movies. I went to the Collective Soul/Aerosmith concert in Raleigh that September. My closest childhood friends were still living in my neighborhood. Once they moved a year or two later we quit hanging out. The following summer (1995) my dad started making me go to work with him in the summer full time. I have pretty much been working ever since. I have a sister otoh who didn't get her first job until she was 17 and that was a part time summer job at Target. The following year she didn't even get a summer job before leaving for college. She did work after that though at least part time.
