They are not heartwarming or charming or nostalgic. NFL's Snow Day commercial is like the most Christmasy thing on TV right now. Wells Fargo has started their part, but where is Budweiser? And that baby shoes, you're-gonna-be-a-grandpa commercial is garbage. I wanna see some of this:I think I might be too early, but I'm also thinking the ad world dropped the ball this year.

I somehow lived the past twenty years completely ignorant of Santa Packs.

ALWAYS COCA-COLA

As a parent of young kids, I'm super happy they are running ads for elf on the shelf shit during cartoons that intimates that the elf is not actually spying and reporting back to Santa, but it's really just a toy. Because I definitely haven't put any effort into building that particular tower of lies.

^^^Santa Packs were only for a limited time one year, but that song was so awesome, they switched it to "Holidays are coming..." and used it in later years. And I know they can't do that one every year, but Coca-Cola hasn't done anything magical at all so far. Free Coke wrapping paper at a mall is not heartwarming!Like, I think we're getting pranked, guys! Or Obama cancelled Christmas, and they don't want us to know yet.^Dude, that sucks. You gotta lie harder to your kid!

^ http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=582542I really really want to see that commercial where everyone shows up for dinner with green bean casserole. There's a lady in a high pitched voice saying "We brought the green bean casserole!" that always gets stuck in my head. I have looked all over the interwebs for it but can't find it. $5 paypal to whomever can find it. I'm tired of referencing it every year and no one knowing what I'm talking about.

It also seems like the word "Christmas" is taboo now in the media. It's one thing to refer to "the holidays" as the period of time that includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, but "holiday gifts"? "Enjoy the holiday"? You don't have to be a Christian to acknowledge the name of the holiday you are celebrating.[Edited on November 29, 2015 at 2:36 PM. Reason : ]
