What do you buy for your folks at various holidays?

I'll post my embarrassing list if necessary. But I need ideas, especially for fathers.

Alright, I'm screwed then.

I'll stick to Feinstein books and grilling accessories. And glance away at his shame.

dad is definitely the hardest to shop for...he likes some books, but only pretty specific genres. sometimes clothes will work but he's picky in what he wears. it seems impersonal to give a parent a gift card...but i know i can never go wrong with a lowe's gift card. he shops there a ton.

mom is easier. household items (kitchen stuff, decorative stuff) are always easy and appreciated. books are easy for her, ear rings.

check out http://www.mancrates.com/. Got him one of the whiskey crates last Christmas, it was a big hit, including the packaging.

Got him a raspberry pi for father's day, a new tobacco pipe for his birthday.

Other gifts for Dad in the past have included getting BBQ from a specific place in NC shipped to Ohio, various guitar and music things, JRR Tolkien stuff (fancy books, art, etc.), and KC Chiefs gear.

Mom usually gets jewelry, old movies (she loves a lot of black and white films), books, if there are specific cooking things she mentions (really wanted a nice enameled dutch oven for example), or gardening stuff.

Depends on what their interests are.

http://www.novascotiancrystal.com/ornament-2015.html

and the rest of the crystal is quality. so if dad drinks scotch, the single malt glass is great. also has a rum glass.

then i usually get them tickets to the kennedy center

they're all stocked up on animals, plus their oldest/my dog died a month ago so they don't want another one right now

I have a brother and a sister. As of late, my folks have been telling us what they want and we've been splitting the cost equally. It's generally one "thing" between $300-400. Works out great.

Tell us about your dad. What does he like?

My dad has been traveling a lot for work lately and he's on his phone all the time so I'm thinking of getting him one of those portable travel chargers. Kinda meh but he's a very practical guy (as am I) so he'll get a lot of use out of it.

I got my dad a drone this year. He's an aerospace engineer and he loves shit like that.

I got my mom some huge wine glasses, she's been saying that she wants bigger wine glasses, so I got some for her

Getting my dad a popcorn machine (not a microwave assholes) and a book.

Mom is getting gift cards and a donation to wounded warriors in her name. She eats that stuff up.

wounded warriors is a shitty foundation. i seriously don't know how everyone doesn't know this by now.

donate to the travis manion foundation instead http://www.travismanion.org/

and if you want some moto stocking stuffers, hit up http://www.bullets2bandages.org/ - i'm fond of the .50 cal bottle opener.

what kind?

for the past few years I've gotten my dad different quadcopters (in the $100-$300 range) but want to go in with my mom and get him a legit one this year. but I know nothing about the tech and haven't even started looking at what's out there
