does this deserve its own thread or just part of the other?anyways, I like the trailer, August 23 here we come
7/13/2015 10:04:28 PM
I'm fine with either, as long as we keep the comic and the show in separate threads
7/14/2015 8:26:48 AM
Looks pretty good, I've always been more of a fan of initial zombie outbreak/panic stuff. Does this actually have its own comic series/spinoff from the Walking Dead or is it entirely new stuff?
7/14/2015 8:37:43 AM
completely newthey say its just in the same "universe" with the Walking Deadand it has already gotten the green light for 2 seasons so far
7/14/2015 8:39:15 AM
Trailer was better than expected. Was going to watch either way.Haha, would be pretty hard to post spoilers for this one since no comics exist about this. Kirkman use to say he didn't really care to depict how everything started out or go into detail about it, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
7/14/2015 8:44:12 AM
iop1this looks awesome. was that an Obama cameo?
7/15/2015 12:12:54 AM
Fuck this. I already wasted too much time chasing the last show and hoping it would stop sucking and return to the wuality of the first 3 seasons
7/15/2015 12:14:22 AM
7/15/2015 12:59:11 AM
new rule:when in this thread, talking about how good or bad or this show is, you must use the word "wuality"
7/15/2015 10:14:49 PM
only a week away, and its looking better with each preview they show

NO COMIC SPOILERS PLEASE!
8/17/2015 9:38:33 AM
the part where they have to take on the LA swat team is gonna be badass (with full riot gear, headshots are gonna be tough)or when the zombified flying Elvis group shows up from Vegas
8/17/2015 2:19:37 PM
definitely gonna watch this. hope it's a wuality show
8/18/2015 6:43:49 AM
I'm excited about it. Definitely going to watch! The trailers have surprised me (in a good way)
8/18/2015 10:17:41 AM
and of course AMC is unwatchable thanks to time warner.[Edited on August 23, 2015 at 9:07 PM. Reason : oh we back. twc sucks.]

Did Carl die?
8/24/2015 8:35:37 AM
no, but he left the house AGAIN
8/24/2015 10:11:02 AM
meh. I think once it picks up it'll be good but I really don't give a shit about this kid's heroin problem.
8/24/2015 10:29:08 AM
Don't care for any of the characters yet, but hopefully that'll change. I'll continue watching.
8/24/2015 10:36:17 AM
Did it seem odd to anyone else that kids were being dismissed early from school because someone was shot in the street by police? Or was there another reason for the dismissal?
8/24/2015 1:15:39 PM
Perhaps fear of backlash from the public/community for an officer involved shooting?
8/24/2015 1:49:08 PM
Because there was video of the shooting, and it showed the guy eating the paramedic, and then taking a severe beating, then taking a bunch of bullets while continuing to come at the cops....and the fat kid with the scarring acne said that there were several weird incidents in several states, that the media was claiming weren't related, but he new it was some kind of virus.... so if he figured it out, I'm sure the officials had figured it out and just hadn't told the public yet out of fear of mass panic.and the first episode was slow, but that's to be expected since they're showing the very beginning, I'm sure it will pick-up in the next couple of episodes.

Im wondering why the East Coast people didnt know that anyone can turn after they die (versus only turning after being bit). They didnt find this out until the 3rd season or so, right?
8/24/2015 2:53:10 PM
I thought this was excellent television. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses because Korrlls Dad was in hospital with coma for like 2 weeks and when he came out it had all gone to shiznittt. So I guess they can't be dilly dallying around forever like in Strain where everybody just seemed to ignore the gross face hugger vampire epidemic until the end of season 2.
8/24/2015 3:15:43 PM
8/24/2015 3:32:52 PM
We're gonna pick this one apart piece by piece too? Ok, I'll play.If you noticed the classroom shots, there were lots of empty desks. There were quite a few references to the high truancy rate at school. The "fever" or whatnot. But why so many people out of school? If THAT many children are out of school, and you have missing posters up everywhere, then to me, the shit's already gone down. You don't just get sick from this virus, you either die after bitten and come back, or come back after you die from any other cause, but in this universe, the virus itself doesn't kill you. If that many kids were out of school from say, zombie cannibalism, then we're already be in an outbreak scenario.
8/24/2015 3:43:32 PM
Maybe children are more vulnerable to the virus, and some can come down with a fever without being bitten?
8/24/2015 4:01:21 PM
lol at the "kid" with the acne. Dude looked like he was about 30.
8/24/2015 5:00:41 PM
it was obvious the drug dealer was taking him down to kill him as soon as he put his arm around him in the dinerI still don't see how walkers could take down the worldI think the movie Maggie is the worst it would ever get to in real life
8/24/2015 10:32:29 PM
Maggie was definitely realistic, but horribly depressing as well.
8/24/2015 10:52:32 PM
8/24/2015 11:25:46 PM
^^^read WWZ if you want a piece of fiction that tried to explain that
8/25/2015 12:56:18 AM
Think of the LA riots. Police were non existent because they were spread so thin.So when the calls flood the departments there isn't enough police to prevent looters. Then people notice and start rioting. Then the military, national guard, police, etc are dealing with both an outbreak and normal people. And to reinforce the point, minus headshot, you die in any way you turn into a walker.I've also loved the fact that in this universe nobody has ever mentioned the word zombie. They have no idea what that concept is.
8/25/2015 8:56:36 AM
yeah it would be chaos and all, and the local police would probably failbut by the time 28 days have gone by, the military would probably have figured out head shots early on, and since they were slow, they would have the situation under controlim thinking 35% of the population lost at the mostor course then if everone who dies from now on comes back, that would change the way hospitals, nursing homes, etc work (ie restain at least one limb of every patient to the bed)but what about people that die at home, I suppose mini-outbreaks would continue to happenand like I said, Maggie was a good movie from "that" perspective
8/25/2015 9:24:31 AM
They didn't say "zombie", but that kid with the knife definitely seemed like he had some understanding of the whole thing. Seemed more like he was scared to say the word "zombie" because he knew the teacher wouldn't believe him or would think he was crazy.I mean even when we had that dude with the bath-salts actually eating people's faces off, the media and everyone chuckled at the thought of him being a zombie but just accepted that he was having a horrible drug incident. They even pointed out the short-comings of the government/media by saying "if something was happening, officials would let us know wouldn't they?" In this situation though, makes it easier to believe the outbreak success rate when you assume the average person doesn't understand the concept of a zombie or how to kill one.

The old cliche fakeout
8/27/2015 8:07:11 AM
So are they going to delve into how the virus actually started or what? I thought this would have more of an origin story feel, not just a vague reference to some shit in the midwest
8/27/2015 10:27:34 AM
Well if nobody in The Walking dead knows where it came from then probably it was never figured out.
8/27/2015 11:44:34 AM
it probably came from monkeys in africa... or a meteorite
8/27/2015 11:50:27 AM
it's been one episode. people are just now finding out that there is a disease. we could still very easily find out the source of the virus.
8/27/2015 1:16:00 PM
The CDC didn't even know what caused it
8/27/2015 1:28:23 PM
Is this show a parody of itself at this point? I mean in the first two episodes, two characters who could end up being long running characters die in the first two episodes, and they just happen to be black men?
