Since it's being shunned from the real track thread – and probably for good reason – here's a thread in which we can dump info/pics related to the silly hobby of asphalt figure skating a.k.a. drifting. The next Piedmont event is Sunday May 24th. – $10 at the gate, $40 for an all-day driver pass, $5 for an all-day passenger pass. – Tech is less of an inspection for safety and more of a verification that your car is not on fire. – Motorcycle helmets and cage-less tandem runs are fair game. – Sneaking your friend's 10 yr old brother shotty for a ride is frowned upon, but go for it anyways.https://www.facebook.com/events/700037180107958/[Edited on May 13, 2015 at 12:55 PM. Fun stuff this past weekend. Huge turn out. Possibly the biggest turnout we've ever had at Piedmont. My friend Mark (also an NCSU M.E. alum) came out for some tandem runs. The event was a bit of a shakedown for both of us so we stayed off each others' doors for the most part, but we still nailed down solid runs throughout the day.I finished the day by overheating my clutch and sticking it to the flywheel, but otherwise we had no issues

Just finished the clutch install this afternoon. Break in period was 50 feet from the garage to the trailer Ready for some skids tomorrow
7/18/2015 10:06:37 PM
is the trailer always that low or is there something fucky going on with the driveway?
7/18/2015 10:51:29 PM
A little of both.Trailer tires are in a low spot to help get the tail closer to the ground, but the trailer itself is still low as shit. It has no sprung axles, just hubs solid mounted to the deck. Sitting on level ground, the tail is only a few inches off the ground. But since the tires are the trailer's only suspension, it can't compress/scrape much. Just big bumps and driveways.Super easy to load/unload. If I can find a little dip like my driveway has, I don't even need to use the bottle jack stand on the front of the trailer. Just put ramps down and drive on.

man, that's a lot of energy that your trailer frame and axles must now absorb. it's gonna crack eventually. not a matter of if, but when.[Edited on July 18, 2015 at 11:27 PM. Reason : but kudos on the not-giving-a-fuck]

Questions as i may join this soon1:where do you get so many sets of tires for this2: doesn't the cars dynamics change with every set of rears you put on it? 3: how often to the fronts let go in comparison to the rears?
