Syracuse has no bad losses. They only have 3 top-50 wins compared to our 5, but they played Michigan and Nova pretty close. It's a solid resume, and I'm damn glad they took themselves out of the tournament.

A win should lock us into the NCAAT, but a lose doesn't take us out.

That said, if we lose to Syracuse, and lose in the first round of the tournament, I don't think we're a lock for the NCAA. We'd need to pick up one or two wins in the ACC to make it.

I haven't watched much of Syracuse this year, but from the little I've seen they're pretty shitty shooting team so I think we match up nicely with them. Outside of Cooney & that Duke transfer they don't have much of an outside threat and if you watch the teams that TKO us in the ACC they scorched us from beyond the arc. However, I think we will go on a scoring famine against the Syracuse zone as it's a thing of beauty. I could see some infuriating turnovers from our guards as well.

its pretty simple actually, assuming both Pitt and Miami will beat the cupcakes they play on Saturday.

We want Miami to lose so we still have a shot at the 6seed with a win vs SYR:

I'm not buying that Miami has a guaranteed win at Virginia Tech on Saturday. Should they win? Sure. But they've lost to lower tier ACC teams already (including a 20 point home loss against GT and a road loss at Wake). I think they're somewhat like us, in that it depends on which Miami team shows up.

Same for Pitt/FSU. FSU is not terrible and Pitt will be on the road.
