I have no idea why the police would shoot a guy that was on the ground and already in constraints.
3/2/2015 3:44:28 PM
They said while he was on the ground he went for an officer's gun.
3/2/2015 4:23:12 PM
Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I'm sure they'll say he did. That's hardly the point though. Police are supposed to be able to de-escalate conflict, not create it. This is so similar to the Eric Gardner incident. OK, they guy is doing something technically illegal, he had his tent up past 6am, but it's hardly the kind of thing that should escalate into the guy being shot to death. If you can't handle dealing with the homeless and mentally ill, and 5 of you can't subdue an unarmed man without shooting him perhaps you shouldn't be a cop.

They were responding to a robbery in the area, not just hassling him for the tent.

I ain't watching it cause it happens all the time, and nothing ever changes.I encourage others to watch it if they plan to do something about it. Otherwise, don't watch...just enjoy your evening! No need to watch, get sad, post a bunch of bullshitty comments here, and go to bed as usual. Fuck that.Let's ignore it!Also, let's ignore cop deaths, too.I think we could get to the bottom of this whole problem with straight ignorance.[Edited on March 2, 2015 at 9:53 PM. Reason : IGNORANCE!]

Yeah, just like in the Eric Gardner thing they were investigating a fight.Point is, they escalated a situation and ended up shooting a guy. It was completely unnecessary. They asaulted a homeless guy and then shot him. Why? It didn't need to happen like that. Even if the homeless guy was going for a gun (and maybe he was, maybe he wasn't it's a common cop refrain like "stop resisting") it doesn't absolve them for their behavior that led to the situation.I'm so tired of seeing the mentally ill and the homeless getting gunned down or beaten into comas. It's unnecessary and we are responsible because we don't demand change. They've been indoctrinated with this completely false idea that it's a war out there and they're in danger every second of the day, and as a result this is the behavior you get.

The vast, vast majority of people they encounter on a daily basis, especially the homeless/crazy ones, can't afford a firearm. If they ever had one, they sold it...for whatever... They all got knives though...don't doubt that....And, if you chit chat with cops around here, they'll tell you a big part of their job is straight up driving people to institutions when things are gettin' especially outta hand. The good ones know their names, family addresses, technical illnesses, even their semi-current meds, etc...Why can't teachers, police, and nurses solve all of our social problems? TOTES BULLSHIT!

Cops being cops, now lets wait for the character assassination, victim blaming, and grand jury prosecuting defense attorney to happen. It is probably another one of those ones where they mean to shoot taser and shot gun. Like the transit cop that murdered that guy on the ground.
3/2/2015 11:04:52 PM
Oscar Grant....Yes Tasers are heavy and feel like guns. Its not like cops don't have training in weapons or anything. They just make mistakes, kill people and walk because our justice system is broken.

Suspect is french kissing his daughter, before taking her home with intent to bwn.Maybe the homeless man is in the process of getting his ass kicked by multiple people. Cops will say and do anything to cover their ass.
