We recently watched this and were pleasantly surprised, thought it was well done and pretty funny, had the same feel as Big Adventure.

I thought they did a good job with it as well. It did have a nostalgic Peewee movie feel to it.
Although, not sure if was intentional or not but Peewee comes off as a big homo in the movie. He's always running from women and he has the man crush which is the plot driver. I don't remember him being so homo in Big Adventure.

In Big Adventure:

He lives alone with a tiny dog.
His only transportation is a Googie bike.
He constantly turns down the cute girl at the bike shop.
He's good enough in drag to fool the police.
His response to a gang of angry bikers coming after him is to do a table dance in heels.
He spends all night in a concrete dinosaur with a woman and nothing happens.

Haha, ok I guess I didn't pick up on all that stuff when I was a kid. Peewee was a homo back then too.
