Looking to get more experience? Need more projects for your design portfolio? Then, look no further, because we have the gig for you! We'd like someone to redesign our web site: http://www.PacGenesis.com. Today's site is formal, outdated and a little boring. We want something fun and snappy. Site design:The overall structure will be a slide-based site like this: http://ironsummitmedia.github.io/startbootstrap-clean-blog/ Content:The copy can be streamlined. The content should be minamilistic and catchy. Graphics:Images should be more prominent. We'd like to use either the Austin or Raleigh skyline as a rotating background. We use Wordpress as our CMS. Current templates are in CSS and PHP We created this site which can be used as a baseline: http://keepcalmanddevops.com/

no pay?

No pay? hah.The curse of the artistic jobs. Everyone just wants you to do free work for your "portfolio". While the current site may be slightly dated, it is honestly not that bad. I mean, it's not going to win any award for being a sleek, modern website, but it is also not a turn off since your company is not a design-oriented company. That Clean Blog layout is nice and simple, but there are hundreds of free wordpress templates out there that fall into that same category that you or someone at your company could grab and modify for free to suit your tastes. Since you appear to just be looking for something simple and you aren't wanting to pay, surely you have someone on your team of former IBM developers that could learn the bare bones basics of CSS and HTML to modify an existing wordpress template where all the heavy lifting has already been done. Finally, that DevOps site is very bland and generic. Definitely worse than the PacGenesis site. Were you just using that as an example of some of the copy you want on the new site or what? There is no shame in trying and having to ask questions if you run into road blocks developing something. But asking someone else to do the whole site for free is lame.[Edited on January 16, 2015 at 11:13 AM. Reason : ]

^this.99.9% of the time in my personal observations, when it comes to web-design, logos, posters, business cards etc., if someone does not state anything about pay AND throws the red-flag "portfolio" out there in any other context than "please include a link to your portfolio with your submission", they are looking for someone to do the work for free. The other .1% of the time, they're willing to pay, but not anything competitive.[Edited on January 16, 2015 at 12:33 PM. In fairness, they haven't said they aren't paying, but it sure as hell sounds like it.also:
