Cherie Berry kept me from voting straight party Democrat when I lived in NC. Never wanted to see anyone else's name in the elevator.

No reason for her to not continuously get reelected. For the 2 elections I was old enough for while I lived in NC, it wasn't like there was a challenger who could do much better of a job. If the candidates are roughly equal, I'll go with the one with experience and awesome name.
