As the biggest Steely Dan fan on TWW, I'm proud to put this discussion to rest"Hey Nineteen" is probably the catchiest tune"Black Cow" may have the best beat"My Old School" is my favorite mainstream songHowever, my favorite all-time song and a completely unheralded song, is "Dirty Work"
12/31/2014 1:50:17 PM
my favorite is also Dirty Work but I also really like Deacon Blues as well.
12/31/2014 2:11:16 PM
coincidentally, I'm also the biggest Michael McDonald fan on TWW, so any track that features his sweet, sweet voice is A-OK by me as well
12/31/2014 2:18:33 PM
Wow.. yall like the softer side of steely dan.....
12/31/2014 2:24:04 PM
as opposed to their hard-rockin' power stadium anthems?
12/31/2014 2:30:41 PM
Babylon Sisters or Deacon Blues
12/31/2014 2:33:51 PM
Lol none are powerful really but wow i was expecting something that maybe had a darker tone to the music or something... I dunno but reelin in the years and do it again fit my pallet a lot better but it's just what i grew up on.

I really get into Peg and Dirty Work.. also Do it Again which i thought was Santana for the longest time.
3/24/2018 3:36:08 PM
^Lol, for the longest time I thought "Evil Ways" was Steely Dan.
3/24/2018 4:48:27 PM
I don't care much for Dirty Work. Fagen > Palmer. I don't even really consider it a Steely Dan song.]
3/24/2018 5:33:04 PM
also, might not be my favorite, but didn't see it in the thread, so Bodhisattva
3/24/2018 5:45:19 PM

Been on a Steely Dan kick lately.Really digging Caves of Altamira, Kid Charlemagne(trying to learn the solo to this), Only a fool would say that, bad sneakers, Peg, Deacon Blues(the Steely Dan of Steely Dan songs), and Black Cow. Any other gems I need to pull?

Rikki Don't Lose That Number?
11/11/2022 7:11:08 PM
Don't Take Me Alive is the only Steely Dan song I like, which is weird because I believe Jeff Porcaro to be one of the greatest drummers.

Fun fact. I work with a guy named Danny Steele. True story!Well, it may not be fun, but it's a fact!]
