If having that address is a cause of concern because of how people might perceive it, it is time to grow up.

mine is still just @ncsu.edui graduated almost 2 years ago and still use it. i think since ncsu moved over to gmail hosting, you can just keep using that now.i figure for stuff i don't want sent to my work email, @ncsu.edu looks better (maybe more professional) than @gmail.com or whatever else.i wouldn't consider @alumni.ncsu.edu silly or douchey or anything[Edited on December 12, 2014 at 8:48 AM. i have one, as well as an @ncsu.edu accounti was told you have to log in via the web (not just apps) at least once every 6 months to keep your unity email address active...no idea if that's true, but they clearly allow students to keep them after graduation, now

Graduated in 2004. I have one and most times it is OK, however sometimes emails don't come through or I have had to email them a few times when I get notified that emails bounce. You get what you pay for....or in this case you don't pay anything and it works most of the time.

my main account is still @ncsu.edu I'd actually like to get an alumni account - how do you do that? I feel like with the simple @ncsu.edu account I find myself explaining that it's an "alumni" account in certain situations.not to mention my @ncsu.edu account gets spammed like crazy since I've used it so long. no matter how much I filter or unsubscribe, I still get like 10 a day. I still have my regulard at ncsu.edu ....sometimes they phase you out, sometimes you don't. I think just going on the ncsu alumni page and being a legit member you can sign up?

yeah that a prominent use case

Never used. I agree, it's douchey.

My husband had one and used it all of one time for the aforementioned student licensing that required an edu email address. Otherwise, it's been useless.
