http://abc11.com/education/photos-top-10-most-beautiful-college-campuses-in-the-country/244734/#gallery-1

It's an interesting list, but I'm shocked that Virginia didn't make it. They usually are on the "Most Beautiful Campus" list when someone makes one. I think the Ivy League schools and some of the military academies have beautiful campuses too.

Not a single school in the ACC, or in North Carolina made the list. I guess that is what we get for demolishing the Reddick Field House.

^Yeah I don't know how you can judge it on that. Honestly, every campus that is 100+ years old has at least one building made out of stone, marble, or brick that can be considered beautiful.

Coast Guard

Virginia

West Point

Yale

Duke

Illinois

California Berkeley

^^demolishing the old Talley student center probably killed our chances of making the list too.

I, for one, like our campus and think that it has some redeeming qualities to it.

You'd think with an ag program, horticulture, turf grass management, landscape architecture, plant biology, etc. we could get some damn flowers up in this bitch, though.

^^+1
Its hard to really achieve a beautiful look in the old south with nothing but a sea of red brick. Also, for such an old school, they've done a pretty good job of tearing down most of the historic parts of the campus.

No kidding, I found this photo of it when I googled Harrelson Hall. All of that pretty grass will be gone after they dig up the area.

I agree. Our campus looks pretty nice when you go over by the older buildings near the bell tower. It would make the Court of the Carolinas look nicer if Poe wasn't there and it was replaced with something a little more classical.

^^^it's no coincidence all the nicer areas are filled with administration and design students.

I can only assume the Court of the Carolinas is still there to keep the CHASS students from offing themselves. Their degrees are sad enough already, don't take away their flowers.

I'm still pissed they tore down Riddick stadium over the decades and have since replaced it with a steam plant.

^At least we still have one of the smokestacks left. If you look at old photos though, there are two smokestacks.

I've always really liked State's campus - the Court of Carolina, Belltower, Park Shops, SAS area of campus I think is legitimately nice and now the area around Talley is much better as well with all of the improvements related to the new student center. Reynolds renovations should help there too.

Harrelson is the next building to come down, but I've heard that knocking down Lee/Sullivan and rebuilding new dorms there is in the long term plans of State as well. Need to go ahead and take down Dabney, Cox and Poe while they're at it.

yeah ok I graduated from CHASS and I'm doing exactly what I set out to do and make damn good money for being this far along in my career. STEM / Business majors aren't the only worthwhile degrees at State, that's just an ignorant viewpoint.

http://www.thebestcolleges.org/most-beautiful-campuses/

I found another 2014 beautiful campus review. Pepperdine and Lewis & Clark made the top 20 on both lists. Other colleges that appear on both lists are Scripps College, Sweet Briar College, University of San Diego, Rollins College, Wellesley College, Ole Miss, Princeton, and Kenyon College.

Notables

49) Wake Forest
43) Florida State
35) Duke
27) UNC Chapel Hill
17) Virginia
1) Elon
