Movies like Run Fatboy Run, and most things tied to Pegg and Frost.

Movies like Due Date, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and most things ties to RDJ in a comedy.

And then there are even the slightly darker comedies like Rob the Mob that came out this year.

It's not overacting in general, it is just that it felt like every scene was filled with over the top and annoying shouting of some sort.
