Is it just me, or is this game as addicting as crack? http://www.ftlgame.com/Anyone here given this a go? It's a steal for $10.

i seem to be one of the few who wasn't that impressed. i can see why folks like these types of games, but they don't appeal to me for whatever reason. in this one's case it just felt too random what you happened to get at any given world (oh great another heal ray). i heard they patched it and changed that a bit, but i havent tried it since.

I've unlocked 3 or 4 different ships/variants but I still haven't managed to beat the mothership. Even on Easy it's definitely not forgiving.

I got real into it a few months back when the ipad version came out. Finally beat it, playing a couple times on the harder difficulty then decided eh and gave up. I wasn't really into boarding so generally it was a matter of "will i find shops that sell good weapons in time to win". Became too luck based.

I'm not sure that fun is the word I'd use to describe this game, but I definitely found it to be compelling. I just haven't found time to play it recently because a complete game takes so long.

Played a quick game just now since this thread made me think of it. I've yet to see the final sector, but I got to five (best so far is seven), and I unlocked a Zoltan ship and a Zoltan with max stats

Nice! I used to rush through the first 2 or 3 sectors, but now I try to get to as many stars as possible before jumping out. And I fight everything early on for as much scrap as possible. I can get to the mothership pretty consistently now with either the A or B Kestral. The Engi ships are a little tougher. I found the encounter yesterday that would have unlocked the Mantis Cruiser, and I had all the right systems/crew members but I screwed up what I needed to do.
