This isn't a personally directed thread; let's just pretend there is a user that routinely puts all of our lives at risk by possibly going up to 170mph on public roads around the Raleigh area.a) Maybe he's just full of shit and is cultivating a personality he thinks is cool?b) He has a perfect driving record, thinks he does this is a very safe manner, and will never hurt anyone.c) Takes his car to the track occasionally, but there aren't any tracks around with enough room to test his vehicle's top speed? This is his hobby and he is an enthusiast, so it's very important for him to know these things.d) He apparently doesn't care if he kills himself, you, or a van full of kids. Remember, he is a very good driver. How do you deal with said person? Remember (this is very important), do not attach a username to this thread. These things might be in "evidence," but again, this is not personally directed.(a collection of hypotheticals)Maybe this could be similar to the "do not drive drunk" thread? I don't really see a difference in the two activities as far as irresponsibility goes.

Seems to me like the person in question has seen too many Fast and the Furious movies.

Maybe. This person seeks out "deserted" roads, or possibly large / straight roads we are all familiar with and goes out late at night. He has many excuses for justifying his illegal behavior.

lol not many cars are capable of 170mph and even if they were, how often do street races get up that fast? the ones I've seen usually just go about 15-30mph over the posted speed limit from a dead stop, or are a third gear pull on the highway and get up to like 100-120mph.

Maybe this person, whoever they are, is just racing against themselves.
5/5/2014 6:00:36 PM
remember when Mario Williams had a video get out of him doing 100+ in a Lambo on 440?
5/5/2014 6:28:56 PM
Is street racing ever safe or socially acceptable? What would you say to this person face to face?Is calling them out simply being an internet tough guy? What if someone bragged in the drunk driving thread that they were experts on drunk driving and drove home from parties all the time hammered?Would that person be cool or would TWW jump on them?No idea if someone ever actually did that.

A G8 is prolly drag limited to 165 mph, unless it has been exstinsively modded.
