I'm glad he didn't jump on the Wake job opening as I would really like to see him here down the road somewhere and that would have been awkward.I think he should take a job at a middle of the road program to continue to learn until he's in his forties, then get ready to jump into the ACC when he's seasoned and ready to coach out his prime 15-20 years here.[Edited on March 25, 2014 at 6:19 PM. Reason : Not saying that I don't like Gott at all, just talking big picture.]
3/25/2014 6:19:14 PM
Archie's too busy with other things right now to consider the Wake job. between getting his team ready for the sweet 16 and other shit...[Edited on March 25, 2014 at 6:21 PM. Reason : .]

3/25/2014 6:24:08 PM
has as many Sweet 16 appearances there as Gott has here, just sayin'and jump on the Wake job opening? is there any precedent for a coach to take a job while he's in the middle of coaching his team to the Sweet 16?look, I absolutely love the guy and wish him the absolute best, but I think some of us may need a cold shower and some perspective
3/25/2014 6:31:15 PM
If you ask any expert out there they'd say he is ready to bust out as an absolute coaching star. He'll be long gone to a top program by the time we are in need, IMO.
3/25/2014 6:34:53 PM
I hope Julius Hodge is taking his coaching badges yeah?
3/25/2014 6:35:53 PM
^^ unfortunate but true, probably.
3/25/2014 6:51:03 PM
I'll keep saying this until you people listen. DROP IT. Archie Miller will never coach here.
3/25/2014 6:54:37 PM
3/25/2014 7:33:52 PM
I will laugh, then cry if wake has a smoother head coach hiring process than we've had
3/25/2014 7:36:01 PM
^^ no, I didn't, because we usually aren't privy to those conversations
3/25/2014 7:46:24 PM
I'll never let this one go. I'm going to be as insufferable about Archie as other people were about Gregggg.I wanted us to hire Archie three years ago when it became clear we were out of options. Gottfried has worked out but Archie could have been our K.
3/25/2014 7:48:23 PM
If we had hired Archie ,he would have been fired by this time.[Edited on March 25, 2014 at 7:55 PM. Reason : ]
3/25/2014 7:55:47 PM
you don't hire 31 year old assistants with zero head coaching experience to a power conference school, regardless of them being an alum or not [Edited on March 25, 2014 at 8:06 PM. Reason : shiny objects, tho]
3/25/2014 8:01:22 PM
3/25/2014 8:09:32 PM
which is another reason we wouldn't have hired him 3 years ago, having just fired a former PG who played here
3/25/2014 8:11:35 PM
I don't think I could bring myself to cheer for any team coached by that stupid little wigger.
3/25/2014 8:14:07 PM
NC State alumnus representin' in the sweet 16! #Wolfblood #Packfamily #WeallgotoNCState/desperation
3/25/2014 8:18:06 PM
Prawn Star thinks most white guys that play 15 years of basketball with black guys are preppies
3/25/2014 9:17:38 PM
Michigan State?
3/25/2014 11:23:45 PM
There was no way we could hire Archie, an NC State alum with no head coaching experience after just flaming out with an NC State alum with no head coaching experience (Lowe). What you can be mad at is the fact that after the post Herb search missed on the big targets we didn't hire Sean Miller with 2 years of head coaching experience at Xavier coming off an NCAAT birth. Thanks, Lee.
3/26/2014 7:41:34 AM
^ agree. And even then, hiring a former Herb assistant after Herb had just left may not have gone over particularly well at the time. That being said, if he had won games and not been Herb 2.0, nobody would've cared. So hindsight is 20/20
3/26/2014 8:15:07 AM
Herb 2.0 (according to PP) is now one of the best coaches in the sport, IMO.[Edited on March 26, 2014 at 9:14 AM. Reason : Beilien]
3/26/2014 9:13:59 AM
3/26/2014 9:27:21 AM
^^oh don't get me wrong, Sean Miller is a great coach. But I just mean that at the time of Herb's departure, would the fan base have really been ready to rally around a "Herb disciple"?
3/26/2014 10:08:48 AM
Which is why I hope "fan sentiment" is NEVER EVER taken into consideration while doing a coaching search.
3/26/2014 10:20:27 AM
^what can we expect when lee fowler was heading up the search though....
3/26/2014 6:49:08 PM
3/26/2014 7:04:12 PM
didn't realize Archie's wife was cheating on him with Sean Hannity
3/26/2014 7:46:36 PM
I'll rock a "Dayton High Life" t-shirt...
3/26/2014 8:39:32 PM
His wife is from the Salisbury area
3/27/2014 1:15:41 AM
rumor is that she's a freak
3/27/2014 7:22:25 AM
You think Adam Harrington is watching the sweet 16 and going..."I totally fucked that dude's wife"
3/27/2014 7:30:21 AM
oh shit, so Archie stuck with her after that?I mean, i guess it's clear he wasn't going to do any better...
3/27/2014 10:42:51 AM
She's making the rounds on all the TMZ-like sports sites I see (DS, TBL, etc). Just a matter of time before one stumbles on that "rumor."[Edited on March 27, 2014 at 1:47 PM. Reason : X]
3/27/2014 1:46:43 PM
That is definitely a rack.
3/27/2014 1:50:15 PM
I mean, if I was a chick at State back then, I probably would have fucked Adam Harrington. He was like Marshall Henderson without being an inbred redneck. Kid had swagger.Although it must have sucked to have Kenny Inge beat your ass. I imagine that would have hurt.
3/27/2014 1:57:18 PM
Yeah I remember Archie's wife. Morgan. She was definitely a freak back in college.I was watching State play at a bar out here in LA and a dude I was sitting next to mentioned playing with Adam Harrington back in HS. I brought up the rumor about him fucking a teammate's girl and he said that was impossible because Harrington was 100% gay. True story. Honestly, I believe the dude, Harrington always had a limp-wristed follow-thru.[Edited on March 27, 2014 at 3:59 PM. Reason : 3]

speaking of Adam Harrington, let's rank the best #23's in State history:Scooter SherrillTracy SmithAdam HarringtonBrandon Costner[Edited on March 27, 2014 at 11:53 PM. Reason : m]
3/27/2014 11:49:10 PM
^^^ Gott had a front row seat to one of the greatest shooting performances I've ever sen that game in the first half. I think he was down 25 at one point 15 minutes in to the game.
3/28/2014 6:32:42 AM
^^ CC Harrison belongs on that listAlso:@aharri21: @BballWife4Life @ervmama congrats to everyone, especially Archie!![Edited on March 28, 2014 at 7:55 AM. Reason : .]

Costner was #33 fellas.
3/28/2014 11:15:44 AM
^^ lol, I thought that had to be fake...
3/28/2014 11:19:17 AM
3/28/2014 11:40:18 AM
Yeah, I've seen that picture too. I thought we were referring to the jerseys they actually wore in games, though.
3/28/2014 11:59:09 AM
iirc costner switched his number between seasons.
