I wanted to share a friend's Kickstarter project since they are in in their final push to meet their funding goal in 2 days ($2600 short). Just in case any BBQ lovers on here would like a specialty designed map of all the BBQ restaurants in NC (>300). Sorry for the pandering but I wanted to help spread the word for a friend and I also want a map and they won't go to print if they can't meet their goal. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/920714852/the-great-nc-bbq-map

I'll donate to get her to the goal if she doesn't map anything west of Raleigh.

None of that Lexington style crap. I don't even know how they got a rep for good BBQ. It's like eating dog food.

If they don't get 149 bucks by the end of the day today they get nothing. How sad.

^^^ I've learned in the past few days that a common Kickstarter trick when you're worried about not meeting goals is to save a significant chunk, ask for twice that, and kick in your own money when you reach the point where it'll make the goal.

^ happens all the time. I've become less and less enamored with kickstarter/indigogo campaigns lately too. Seen waaaay too many of those things implode with no results, reniged rewards, etc. I did a little Indigogo campaign about 2 years ago for $500 or thereabouts, but that'll be the last one I'll do. Frankly it was more of a pain in the ass than it was worth.

the hate for different styles of bbq is always interesting to me.i'll eat pretty much any of it; it's pork people.(i'm from lexington and i love lexington style bbq... but there's no reason to be elitist about it)[Edited on March 31, 2014 at 3:18 PM. Reason : SO CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG ]

lexington bbq is delicious but i much prefer eastern. but again, i've always thought of lexington style being distinct from "more western" styles.[Edited on March 31, 2014 at 7:58 PM. Reason : but internet requires us to talk about bbq in extreme predudicial absolutes.]

^^+1Rant: I'm starting to think in my work travels in the region that when Im searching the googs for somewhere to eat, the person who puts a negative review on a BBQ joint because their BBQ is "dry" makes me wonder if its a place that has several choices and/or whatever amount of different sauces that you want. I've been to many places where it seems thats the case. I can count on one hand out of the 100+ different BBQ places I've ever gone in, for how many times I was just outright disgusted with the sauce/flavor. How bouts you guys?
