Has anybody heard any updates on this since October? http://www.newsobserver.com/2013/10/06/3260397/chinatown-project-moves-forward.htmlI thought this was supposed to be a pretty big deal type project, then it disappeared in 2012 and came back in 2013 but it seems to have quietly died again. They still doin' this?

The parking lot is always full and there are construction crews every so often. However, when I go inside the mall, it's a damn ghost town.

I work relatively close. Every time I drive past, the parking lot is empty. I hope they figure out the traffic situation before they bring in a mall. At 5-6 o'clock it's already bad enough with all the office workers departing. I'd hate to see that area with inbound retail traffic as well.

That's what I thought about Cary Parkway/Chapel Hill Road when they put in Park West. Not that it helped the traffic situation, but it wasn't nearly as much worse as I expected it to be.

just wondered about this too as i went to cracker barrel the other day. Hopefully it still comes to fruition. Would be awesome to have a top-notch Asian market in Morrisville so I dont have to drive to Crossroads.

I was also thinking about this the other day, lol. And I have no idea. Also, that parking lot has some type of sealant on it so that when it is wet it is fairly slick. Awesome place to try out some drifting

Ok, I'm gonna take one for the team and ask the official Morrisville Twitter account.I WILL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!

AND THE RESPONSE: "Staff has met with developers & encouraged them to come to us when their plans were ready. We're waiting to hear back!"

Nicely done...and, I guess that reply doesn't really mean shit, except that there seems like a good chance this will never happen.

Fast forward 5-10 years.Derelict building near airport demolished to make way for new development.

Yeah, probably not. Although that group from Hong Kong already spent $12 mil to buy the thing, so you'd think they'd do something with it.
3/26/2014 12:36:57 PM
^ They are its called

I usually go to the food court there once a week.
3/26/2014 1:53:41 PM
They way over paid for the propert as it is, last I heard they were having financing issues. It makes it sound like a huge investment group doing it, but from what I understand it's smaller investors
3/26/2014 3:02:09 PM
^^oh, there's still a food court in there? What's there? Sbarro?
3/26/2014 6:28:55 PM
The project rebooted last yr I guess.
6/5/2014 9:38:07 PM
I saw it on the news again, there was an armed robbery there or something.
