sardine burgerssardine toast http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/sherried-sardine-toast-recipe.htmlThat's about it. I have to get boneless skinless because I haven't gotten very far in my appreciation of tiny bony fish yet.

Right out of the tin, maybe with some hot sauce.

Do most stores carry sardines packed in olive oil? I only saw Soybean oil or water packed sardines at my store.

I don't

Some times I eat Worcestershire sauce. That counts right?

I ate them on a road trip one time and spilled the mustard juice all in my friend's car. He was mad

I like them when they come in hot sauce. Mustard is pretty good too. I prefer without the bone.
3/4/2014 1:56:48 PM
I am pretty sure I usually get them in olive oil. We are out right now so I can't verify that.
3/4/2014 1:56:49 PM
I like them with saltines and Franks RedHot or Texas Pete.

Usually on a cracker with a piece of cheeseI once tried to batter (Ritz crackers) some that were canned in olive oil and then briefly fry them and make poor man's fish tacos. It was so greasy that I haven't tried it since, stunk up the house too.I've also started dabbling in these:Highly recommended to those interested in canned fish, but not interested in sardines. Much less fishy, great smoky flavor, but much more expensive.[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 4:27 PM. Reason : image not link?]

I put sardines on a hook to catch bigger fish to eat.

Nope. Tried eating some in mustard sauce once and almost vomited. Can't bring myself to buy them again. The cats wouldn't even eat them.

Out the tin with hot sauce.I try to find stuff in olive oil, but most of them at least have some other kind oil added. Hard to find pure olive oil.^^^Yes! I eat the mackerel, and it is tasty!

my husband loves the one in mustard on toast, but we haven't bought any in a while. time to surprise him. this portugese restaurant we like has grilled 'sardines'- but these are 6-8 inch long fish. and boy, are they delicious. ^^^^Ritz crackers are really oily.[Edited on March 4, 2014 at 7:25 PM. ^ yea I think I can reduce greasiness if I tried it again with a better batter, less oil, and a higher heat pan with less cooking time. Then douse it in some salsa.I love the idea of sardine fish tacos b/c it takes out 75% of the work of regular fish tacos. One of you better TWW cooks need to figure this out.
