I am upgrading to level 7 now and that takes 6 days. It is very frustrating how long it takes, but that is of course to get you to buy gems. I love the clan war concept.

I have no patience and I play when I have down time at work so having the boosts for barracks is where most of it goes to.

I can't get past around 1250 trophies. What attack compositions do y'all use (or did you) at TH6? I usually do 12 giants, 6 breakers, 16 gobs, 16 barbarians, and the rest archers.

I have TH6 upgrading to TH7 right now and have everything maxxed out except for a few last collectors/mines. my gold storages are full, too - just waiting for TH to finish and I'll immediately plop the tesla and get everything else going. Trying to save enough elixir to plop the dark barracks immediately, also.

Once I hit TH7 I'm sure I'll jump up quite a lot with the extra troops.

Final question, does anyone actually use balloons? they seem worthless to me except in rare circumstances but maybe I just don't know how to use them right.

have you tried cycling through the attacks to look for town halls that are outside the walls?

I hear balloons are nasty w/ a rage spell

Balloons are worthless until you get them to level 5. Once I maxed them out at level 6, I started using them almost exclusively (usually 40 balloons / 10 minions).

Your attack composition isn't bad. You're just at the ceiling for a level 6 town hall. Once you upgrade your town hall and get your army camp capacity up to 200 and level up your troops again, you'll probably jump up quite a bit.

I have lvl 9 TH and at least lvl 5 troops. I like to use at least 25 hog riders (to destroy the air defenses) in combo with dragons. I use 4 healing spells to make the hog riders last longer. The inferno towers at lvl 10 TH fuck me up though because I can't upgrade to get the freeze spell yet. The max lvl balloons are also badass if you can use them in mass on the right base layout.

We are 10-1 in Clan Wars and when you are at war goblins are not overly useful. Also be sure to coordinate donations strategically for war castles. I don't worry as much about trophy counts as I do about loot when going on general raids. I usually bring 2 healers, a dragon, mostly archers, and then a mix of wall breakers, wizards, giants. I just got the capability to make minions, so I will have to see if they are useful. If you are worried about trophies, I highly suggest evaluating your own village layout for defense. Your count can certainly suffer if you are constantly beaten at home.

I do pretty well on defense. Whenever I do lose, it's from a 200 unit army or using TH7+ spells. I think I'm about as high as I can get at TH6 without that happening too often. My base is a hybrid but it's virtually impossible to get to the center without beserk spells, dragons, 20+ giants, etc. I think the extra defenses and walls when I hit TH7 should get me to the gold league pretty quickly, especially when I can attack with 200 troops. Right now I can only three star guys that are TH6 or below, or have repairs underway on TH7, though I've gotten a few clean wins based on retarded setups that they had.

If you're going to spend money, get a fifth builder. Everything else can be earned over time. I don't see the point in some of the more expensive armies. They take too long to build.

12 giants, 2 healers, 20 gobs, 8 wallbreakers, 30 barbs, rest is archers.

that'll get roasted by any decently upgraded base though. those goblins and barbarians will get eaten alive by mortars and wizard towers. i do agree that stronger armies do take too long to build, but eventually you have to.

^^ timing is everything. that army comp is pretty close to what i use. you send the barbs in with the barb king, and they all benefit from his free rage spell ability. and the goblins are sent in as cleanup toward the end of the fight. its a pretty cheap and simple attack that is working for me well into TH9.

^^^^ nobody said anything about a barb king. also important is the level of the troops and spells, too. sure it'll work against some bases.

^^^ if you're active, mine and dweedle's clan is pretty good. request to join "The Little House". we're using it as a feeder clan to our war clan "The Big House". we got tired of hoppers, so essentially we have a minor league.

^ they're just so freakin strong. lvl 3+ dragons == . have to be playing for quite a while, or paying $, to get em though. fortunately we have one or two members that donate them on the regular during wars.

You'd think people would figure that out, but we have guys attacking war bases with goblins and giants. I don't know how folks who have played the game for well over a year are as bad as some of these guys, but they are.

Depending on the base I'm targeting in the war, I use one of the following strategies:

* 11 level 3 dragons, 5 rage spells and a clan castle full of minions to mop up
* 40 max balloons / 10 max minions and whatever in my castle (usually a dragon, balloons or minions) / combo of max heal and max rage spells
* 2 level 2 golems / 3 level 3 P.E.K.K.A / 10 max wall breakers / 8 max wizards / 3 max archers and a castle full of wizards or archers / combo of max heal and max rage spells (I think the numbers are right for this one)
* 36 max hogs / 40 max archers / 5 max heal spells

It also helps that both my barbarian king is level 12 and my queen is 10. They do a lot to get those last few buildings for 50 percent when you need it.

Of those, the hogs have given me the least amount of success against a well-defended base.
