Long story short, my mom gave me a gift card to Rack Room Shoes for Christmas, I went to the store and picked out a pair of shoes but they didn't have any in my size. So they offer a free "ship to home" feature that has them send the shoes directly to my house in my size. The shoes got here today, but they sent TWO identical pairs of shoes (I only paid for one pair) and I don't really need two pairs of the same shoes so do I :A) bring the shoes to the store, tell them about their error and give them back the extra pair of shoes since I didn't pay for them. IE the "right thing to do"B) keep the extra pair of shoes and wear them when the first pair gets oldC) bring the extra pair of shoes to the store, claim they are not the style I wanted and trade them in for another pair of shoes D) attempt to sell the extra pair of shoes E) find a homeless person on the side of the road and give them away (as long as they wear my size)

E

I don't know why you have so many options.Morally: E>=A>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>B=C=D]
2/6/2014 9:21:49 PM
I would do C, personallyif you sold the shoes, you'd be getting less of a value[Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:23 PM. Reason : .]
2/6/2014 9:22:30 PM
B or Cevery once in a while things swing your way. might as well take advantage of those rare instances.
2/6/2014 9:22:53 PM
^^^I have a very indecisive, active brain? If I bring them into the store to trade for another style, I wonder what the chances are that they figure out the error in their computer system [Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:25 PM. Reason : Sack]
2/6/2014 9:22:55 PM
F) Blackmail the shipping manager into sending you even more shoes so you won't expose his egregious error]
2/6/2014 9:24:55 PM
AE - Give the second pair back to rack room, that's who that pair belongs to. Then give the first pair to a homeless person.
2/6/2014 9:25:50 PM
Then what the hell am I gonna wear?I'm open to other options too
2/6/2014 9:27:28 PM
any option but A, fuck some corporationC is best value if the store isn't out of the way, otherwise B or E, if that whole "morality" thing bothers you
2/6/2014 9:29:54 PM
Is that the only two pairs of shoes you own?
2/6/2014 9:30:18 PM
The answer is pretty clear. Do you want to spend your eternity in hell?
2/6/2014 9:30:33 PM
Corporations wouldn't look out for you. You shouldn't look out for them.[Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:32 PM. Reason : Stt]
2/6/2014 9:32:24 PM
^^^obviously not, but I don't go out of my way to buy shoes just to give them away.[Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:33 PM. Reason : Cvb]
2/6/2014 9:33:18 PM
I'd do B, mainly because I'm too lazy to do A
2/6/2014 9:34:14 PM
Either A or E is what I'd do. In fact...I probably wouldn't do A since it seems like more trouble than I'd like to go to return some shoes.^ yeah that's how I am with option A. I'm not on any kind of anti corporation kick...I'm just lazy as shit. [Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:36 PM. Reason : Jj]

Call the store and explain the situation. Then ask "if I bring the shoes in, will you reimburse me for gas money?"Of course they will say "no", and then you won't have to feel bad about not returning their shoes to them. Then give the shoes to a homeless person.
2/6/2014 9:35:47 PM
the homeless will just have sex with them/eat them/trade them for drugs
2/6/2014 9:37:17 PM
You could donate them to charity, and then use it as a tax write offI'd rather fuck over the federal government than some John Fox shoe store
2/6/2014 9:41:54 PM
To end the whole laziness thing, my wife goes to target probably once a week, rack room is right next door, so it's not really going to be an extra trip for me since she drags me along to target anyways ^^^^he was talking about me giving the first pair of shoes back to the store! and the second pair to a homeless person. Me = zero shoesWe're talking about a $70 pair of shoes here, I don't even think that would register in my taxes as an actual write off. I've donated a car to charity before and didn't end up getting shit in my taxes because of it [Edited on February 6, 2014 at 9:45 PM. Reason : Fjgh]
2/6/2014 9:42:59 PM
just keep the damn things
2/6/2014 9:48:00 PM
Trade them both in, buy a different pair of (reasonably priced) shoes.Give the difference in $$ to a homeless person.
2/6/2014 9:52:40 PM
homeless people don't need new shoesthey're just going to get them dirty pretty quickly
2/6/2014 9:56:16 PM
Alright, stop! Now before you walk in the door of this liquor storeand try to get money out the drawerYou better think of the consequence (But who are you?)I'm your motherfuckin conscience

2/6/2014 10:07:18 PM
I don't understand why anyone would do anything other than A, but apparently that is just me. You might even get some kind of perk for being honest. Also, I haven't seen or heard of Rack Room since high school. Didn't realize it was still around.
2/6/2014 10:09:41 PM
^yeah same here, the wife told my mom that I wanted new shoes and to get me a gift card to foot locker, champs, etc. but in typical mom fashion she got me a $50 gift card to fucking rack room. Luckily there was one nearby my house or I don't know if I'd ever use the card. Also fwiw my vote going in to the creation of this thread was A or C, but I'm so indecisive I figured tww would be a great place to hash this out [Edited on February 6, 2014 at 10:15 PM. I like F: Have your wife take your receipt with one of the pairs of shoes to Rack Room, get that cash monies, do something charitable with it.[Edited on February 6, 2014 at 10:28 PM. Reason : ^ hahahaha][Edited on February 6, 2014 at 10:34 PM. Reason : V fuck i missed that part]

He used a gift card though so no cash monies, just merchandise credit to Rack Room.

2/6/2014 10:33:43 PM
A is the only correct choice
2/6/2014 10:33:56 PM

morally, i don't think there's any option but A...it's clearly the "right" choicethat said, E is the best "don't give it back to rack room" option, but a PITA unless you give them to goodwill or somethingC is the "smart" choice because unless they're the greatest shoes in the whole wide world, you'll probably want a different style by the time the first ones wear out, so you might as well get that nowthere is a 0% chance they'll realize the mistake in the store unless you point it out to them, so there's no risk[Edited on February 7, 2014 at 7:46 AM. 2/7/2014 7:44:45 AM
...someone fucked up the shipment of a pair of shoes that probably cost the store less than half of what you paid. Imagine the extra cost associated with the personnel in the retail store to fiddle with the return, only after they FINALLY understand why you are trying to 'do the right thing'. I bet it would 'cost' the store more money if you return them. in short, keep the damn shoes.P.S. - or the guy behind the counter catches what happened, has the same shoe size as you, and tucks them off to the side.... and takes his new, free pair of shoes home at the end of the shift.[Edited on February 7, 2014 at 7:53 AM. B
2/7/2014 8:39:53 AM
If you choose B. Why can't you wear the extra shoes before told first pair wear out?
2/7/2014 8:50:46 AM
Wear them on your hands.
